What chart should I use to anlyze the time when user came back.

I have made user cohort as below.the user who have first opened my app during 4/23~5/22 time frame, then converted to sign in within 1day after first open app event.then I used the retention chart with this cohortto see the unboudned retention, as I wanted to knowhow many users never cameback even after creating an account (sign in event) Day0>Day1 day 1 unbounded retention was let’s say 50%.and I re created cohort of the ones who did comeback, to see what these users are doing after coming back. In the user session chart, I cannot select 2nd session or the session after the sign in session.Is there any other way to see what the users are doing after coming back? thankswith best regards, Flor Cho

[Dashboard REST API] Properly Use "Group By" Clause

Hello Amplitude,I’m trying to get data via the Dashboard REST API and was able to successfully pull data via the event segmentation endpoint with an event_type and filters. However, for my next chart I need to use a group_by and I’m struggling to properly format the request for my query. Can someone please provide some guidance on how to properly structure complex queries?For reference, I’m quite confused by the documentation, since it appears there are three different areas where a group_by can be specified.The first place it mentions is as a parameter next to the event itself: The second place is as a parameter within the full event: The third place is as a parameter within the event segmentation section:

How can I create this Dashboard? Is it done with formula?

Hi, I have been looking through the Demo dashboardand I was wondering How can I create the number section above the graph?oveall value, yester day, vs current values,vs from May12this part. the chart format is custom formula, so I tried to copy and past the formula to the event segment chart, but it didn’t work. How can I create this type of, ‘showing the important number above the graph’ dash board? thanks

Email address not appearing in user look up

Hi, I would like to be see users coming in user look up but pulling in the email address to make them more recognisable. Currently its not a item I can select to appear as a column even though we have it as a user property. Please can you help

Batch uploaded data not queryable

Hey there, I uploaded some events data from batch api couple of hours back. I received a 200 in response as well. There were 140 events to be precise but they don’t seem to be queryable in my charts. I can see the data got uploaded successfully from web portal as well by going into sources & destinations → identify & event counts but there is nothing in user look up or charts. PLEASE HELP!

Hi:) I would like to know what is wrong with my analysis (Cohort > life cycle)

I have created cohort from the retention chart,from the unbounded retention chart, from DAY1I have created cohort of the ones who didn’t comeback . However when I used persona chart to analyze the user behavior, 0.653% are in the 2nd week retentino, which doesn’t make any sense because this cohort it self is for the ones who never came back. I would like to know more what’s the missing point. thanks

Recieving constant fake events

Hey people, I am constantly receiving fake events (like opening app every second and spamming login buttons which definitely seams to be a bot behaviour) from someone having the same device properties and different IP address every time. Due to this, I can’t even block the events.What are the possible options with me and has anyone ever faced this issue? The events are coming from Nexus 5x, United States. Although my app is in India and that too in closed beta with 100 users only. Any help would be appreciated :)

Account Creation and Org Issue (technical issues per sales team)

Hello all!I recently decided to go with Amplitude and will be syncing it with Kochava. However I am running into 2 issues that put me at a dead end.       1. When i go to log in, it wants me to log into the Org and provide the org URL. However I have tried             everything that it could be and nothing works. I don’t believe I even registered an org yet. When I go to sign up (thinking maybe that is the problem), it says my email is already in use and an account cannot be created. I reached out to the sales team for support and in Salesforce they don’t see an account associated with my email. Please help!Best

Discrepancy when data is grouped

I generated a below retention report. Starting and returning events are same, but I am segmenting return events based on an additional attribute. The attribute only has two possible values and both of them are used as below. In the report, shouldn’t sum of the return events equal to 100%?

Persona chart top and bottom events numbers

Hi, I would like to know “Personas Chart” > top events and lower events the average # of events: for example, cluster 2 users do event “add wizard” with the average number of 2.68, then it means that 3959users *2.68 =10,610 “Add wizard” event has been fired in totalwhat does σ mean? the standard deviation?? σ how is it calculated?                                      It looks like the events are listed in the order of the bigger the σ is, the upper in the list the event is located. however, if this is standard deviation, if it’s bigger, it means that the difference from the mean is big, and that means there are some users who aren’t performing like the mean number of events. If so, I think the lesser the σis the more important that event is, because almost all the users are firing the event                                                         Also, if this is standard deviation, there’s no minus value for standard deviation, but for the event “Add wizard”, cluster 1 is showing mi

How to track events not related to a user

I want to use Amplitude as my dashboard for my business.Most events are coming from user activity, but I want to also track events that are backend / system events like "Newsletter sent” which are related to multiple users or no user at all.Is it possible in Amplitude?

Transfer data from one organization to another

Hi, We are early-stage startup and have been using amplitude on a free plan for a year. We created an organization for that and using it.At the moment I’m enrolling in to Amplitude Startup Scholarship and so I had to create a new organization.I’m just curious could I somehow fill up my new organization with data from previous organization. Or in other words, is anyway there to transfer data from one organization to another?Thanks

churn predictor model

I am working on identifying churn behavior. Let me give details about what I want to do. The customers whose subscription renewal + first charge was due in May, I want to see the usage pattern of those who successfully renewed vs those who cancelled. Further, among those who cancelled whether they were on trial or on the monthly plan and while they were on what what was their usage. Eventually I want to come up with some churn predictor model.How can I go about doing this in Amplitude

How to call Amplitude Export API with R

Event histogram by time of day

I’m surprised I couldn’t find quite a basic function of creating a histogram for my events by the time they fired during the day - even hourly bins would be extremely helpful. Did I miss something, or it is impossible to create such chart yet?

How to track time spent on specific section in a page

Imagine you are in a landing page of website. After you scrolling, you read an article in a section called “announcement”. You finishes read that article, and continue scrolling, then you see photo gallery in section called “photos” How to track amount time spent on section Announcement, just Announcement without including time spent on Photos ? Is there a way to trigger to start the tracker just by hovering mouse pointer into a section or just a touch on it without click any button/event

(Recommend) Does personalization work for anonymous users?

Hey @bilalmahmood  I have done some reading regarding the new product and one thing I am curious about is: does this personalization work for anonymous users? Let's say our product does not use an userID for most of our users, can we target those as well with this? Are there any trade offs for using the Amplitude Recommend for anonymous users? Thanks!

Can I add members to a Dynamic Cohort?

Hi, I apologise if this is a trivial question but I am new to amplitude and the community. I have set up a dynamic cohort based on a specific event, however this event was only recently added to our product, and as such I have a large number of users who were never given the option to perform this event in the past. For the purposes of segmentation, I have manually atirbuted the correct cohorts to these historic users, and was hoping to be able to add them to the dynamic cohort which will now be my ground truth. I know how to create a cohort based on a csv list, but cannot find a way to add these users to the dynamic cohort. Is there anything I can do to join them? or am I stuck with broken data for all eternity?Thank you!

Can I suppress events before a particular date?

We recently realized that a new event that we were sending to Amplitude had some errors, and we wanted to suppress this data from showing up till 5/15. The data after 5/15 is okay, so ideally, we’d like there to be 0 events before 5/15 for a particular event and all events after 5/15. Can this be done in Amplitude?

How to pass and analyse the value of the field of a form?

On the home page of my website, we ask for zip code, name and email ID of the user.  Under which taxonomy should I pass the input value by the users for these fields. Please know that there can be a lot of values for these fields.  Also, once the values are passed, how can I download the list of these values to analyse it?

Can I offset 'Compare to past'?

Hey Amplitude community, I hope one of you have a solution to my issue here :D  Question‘Compare to past’ lets me compare to the same n days to the previous year. This comparison is date by date.As weekdays change each year, is it possible to offset this comparison, so I compare monday - friday with monday - friday previous year? ContextI’m trying to make a performance dashboard, where I’ll compare sales performance with previous year. User property returning (none) since Apr 9, 2021

Hello everybody We have a user property called initial_referrer which used to capture the initial referring URL of the user visiting our website. We didn’t change anything between Apr 8-9 2021 and all our initial_referrer's are returning (none) since.Anyone else having a similar issue or any suggestions on how we can fix this?Cheers!
