Experiment Flag Slack Integration / Webhook

Hey there,Recently we had an incident that was caused by a feature flag being toggled. The incident commander was not aware of the feature flag being toggled to understand what changed in the system. Typically, we push system changes like this to Slack with automations to make it more visible. I noticed there is a Slack integration for some Amplitude features and webhooks for custom monitors, but didn’t see this. What we’re looking for is an integration or webhook that will notify us when a feature flag state is changed. Is there any way to do something like this? Thanks

Identity Resolution of Off-platform Events

Amplitude is a CDP. As a CDP, Amplitude is responsible for ensuring it’s platform can consume multiple data sources to form an accurate picture of the customer. The primary function of the CDP is identity resolution for these various sources. There is a very common use case that I can’t seem to figure out with Amplitude. Consider this example:A company decides to hold a webinar hoping it will create engagement that increases conversion. Leads signup to the webinar on a separate platform e.g. Zoom or RingCentral. After the webinar, the company wants to know how attending the webinar impacted conversion. They are able to export CSV of the list of attendees with their name, phone number, and email address. They take their CSV and upload it to S3 to utilize the native Amplitude S3 Integration.Upon setting up the S3 as a source, there’s a problem. There is no device ID, or user ID in the CSV since these leads didn’t sign up on a platform where Amplitude could collect these.I’ve tested this

I can't see my even property when creating a chart

When selecting a group by drop down to see related properties for the event, the properties are not loading and all I can see is some of my properties along with the ones with Amplitude icon next to it

Node SDK setting environment

Hi :)  We have 2 environments at the moment, events are being sent to the correct environments whilst using the analytics-browser sdk. However I can’t find anything on how to change the environment events go to whilst using the node sdk?  Bit of background I’m using nextjs to send events from the client and api routes hence why I need both the browser sdk and node sdk What’t the solution for this? Thanks! :)

User activation - Executing 3 of a set of 10 possible events

Hi,we have a definition of an Activated User being that this user has executed ANY 3 of a set of 10 defined event within lets say within a week. The timing is not to important here.I have tried custom events, cohorts and segmentation but I don’t seem to be able to define the execution of 3 events of a defined set of events.Ideally I would build this as a cohort because we have an additional definition of an engaded user and that will be a percentage Activated users that execute a particular event more than x times.My current struggle is with the definition of an Activated user.Help?Thx so much!SalsitaDave Ruzius

Device type groups as property group

Hello, we’re trying to get a consistent and easy to use view of device types, but not at the level that Amplitude uses in it’s event. Ideally we would like to see a breakdown of Desktop (Device type = Mac or Windows) vs Mobile (all others). I tried to do this via Property Groups, however I noticed that Device Type and Device Family do not show up in the dropdown when I search for them. We would like to group by this property in charts instead of having to make two separate events, one for desktop and one for mobile. Thanks!

Cross Domain Tracking with GTM and Flutter + UTM data

Hi all, We have installed Amplitude on our Webflow website example.com via GTM. We have installed Amplitude on our Flutter web-app App.example.com via the Flutter SDK. The get UTM info, our dev team added the UTM tracking option to the Javascript script in the index.html file. They enabled the following options:includeFbclid includeGclid includeReferrer includeUtmWe can verify the UTM $identify event is now being fired. One important reason for us to use Amplitude is the ability to track visitors & users across our website and web-app. Example scenario: a visitor visits Example.com and clicks the button "Start for Free". This brings them to the web-app App.example.com where they create an account and start using our app. At the moment, the website and web-app return very different IDs for the same person on the website vs. web-app.  From documentation & other community posts, I learned that when we pass the device_id when people click from our website example.com to our web app

Reverse "Save onto charts"

I´ve applied the filter to the dashboard I own and then proceeded with “Save onto charts” - hence the filter was applied to all my existing charts.How do I remove this filter that is now applied to all the charts on my dashboard?

Optional funnel steps not adding up

I’ve created a funnel with an optional step, however the number of users who are in the funnel after the optional step is higher than the number of users at the start of the funnel. It seems to be counting some users going down both routes. Can someone explain what is happening here? Screen shot below:

[Amplitude] Page Viewed Default Parameters

Hi Community!I’m new to Amplitude Analytics, and I’m currently using it to track events in my web page.When I entered into different pages, Amplitude Analytics will automatically log the [Amplitude] Page Viewed event in the Amplitude debugger, with some parameters. Here are the two questions I want to ask:One of the parameter is User Id, when this event triggered in my web page, this id will defaultly set to undefined, is there any way for me to change the User-Id here to my custom user-id? Since each user in my web page will be assigned an unique id, is there anyway to show the id in the User Id also?   For the referrer in the Event Properties, why is it that whenever I go to any page it shows the url of home? Or did I misunderstand the referrer? Because I want it to show me the url of the current page when I go to a different page, but why does the referrer stay home? I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it to me! Thanks! ​​​​

Can't see option to merge / transform events

Hi there,I’m looking to consolidate some events and according to this help page I should be able to see a ‘Transform’ option after I select the events to merge (as shown in pic) yet sadly its not available. I believe the ‘Transform’ option feature is available on all plans. Can anyone tell me where I’m going wrong please?Thanks in advance, Tom

Can Amplitude do network experimentation?

In my product, users can send each other messages.  If we want to experiment on how messaging works, we can’t run a typical A/B experiment because we need both the sender & recipient to be in the same variant.  One standard way of addressing this is running experiments in different geographic locations, with the assumption that each location has a mostly-closed network.  This hasn’t worked for us, unfortunately, as our separate locations aren’t very similar in the first place so we can’t compare them.  Some companies have the ability to expose experiments based on network clustering.  Is that a feature that Amplitude has?Side note: I have bet on with my engineer that the answer is no. =D  So you won’t disappoint me if that’s the case!The best alternative I can think of is to use BigQuery to manually separate users into clusters, normalize on relevant attributes, try to pair similar clusters to assign to different variants, and upload those assignments as a user property, but I have

Evolution of a 5 day Revenue LTV over time

Hey guys,  I’m trying to create a chart to visualise the evolution of the 5 day LTV generated by clients over time. I have created a cohort for customers who subscribed the same week. I would like to plot the 5 day LTV of the cohort week 1, then the 5 day LTV of the cohort week 2… On the x-axis would be the cohorts (from week 1 of subscription until week n), and on the y-axis their 5 day LTV.  Any ideas how I could do this ?  Thanks !  Greg

Create a chart to find how many times active MAU visit the app each month

HiI want to find out how many times Users visit each month.  I know WAU over MAU but that doesn’t give me detailed insight into how many times users come back each month and when they come back.Does anyone have a way to create this?Thanks, Ian

How to configure user and group identification?

Hey!We are using Accounts add-on and started sending several events, but I am struggling to visualize these in Amplitude.Here is a summary of our set-up:We track users events, users are part of a group called “Customer” For the $identify event we send the following properties: groups: {Customer: "e11cffc6"} user_id: 123 event_properties: {Environment Type: "Production"} For the $groupidentify event we send the following properties: group_properties: {$set: {Customer Name: "IKEA"}} groups: {Customer: "e11cffc6"} user_id: 123 Questions:Did we configured the group analytics properly? As you can see, we added the Customer Name property only for the $groupidentify event and therefore you can’t tell the customer name in the User Lookup page. We would like to see how many Page View events were created per customer. Should we use Segment by users or customers option? Why do I get different results for each selection?

How is session length calculated ?

We have just implemented 5 tracker, but still app has lot of features where trackers are not implemented.Does the session length and hence average session length per user, take the time into consideration of a scenario when user is still using the feature( using the app) on which trackers are not yet implemented?

Integrating Subscription Data from App Store & Google Play

I don’t understand from this document and discussion whether Amplitude can automatically retrieve data about my subscriptions from the App Store and Google Play if I add the iTunes Connect Shared Secret. Is this possible, or do I need to manually send this data from my server, which is also notified by Apple and Google about renewals, cancellations, and refunds?

How to see how many users open an app daily

Say I have 100 users. I want to know, for each user, whether they opened the app on day 1, 2, 3, etc.I don’t think I am looking for retention, but as an example, my current retention at day 30 is 40%. But this doesn’t really tell me whether the users in that 60% portion still might be using the app, just very sporadically, even on day 40, or even 100. Right? The nature of my app doesn’t really require constant usage.

Compare conversion difference between 2 flows

Hello,I have set up a chart to compare the conversion difference between users:who started with (1A) and then (2) = flow 1A2VS.who started with (1B) and then (2) = flow 1B2as follows: I wonder if this is a correct setup The user U1 who started with view-search-results-page had to go to checkout page and triggered view-checkout-page prior to end the journey with purchase.  The user U2 who started with view-checkout-page went back to view-search-results-page then view-checkout-page and purchase. The question is: can we be sure that U1 is only counted in flow 1A2, and U2 is only counted in flow 1B2?Thank you so much!

BUG - Events in the user stream are out of order

Hi,I'd like to report that the order of events is very chaotic, making it very confusing to understand the events. Somebody knows the product manager that handles this experience section to be alerted about this? I found that other users reported this almost a year ago, but the problem remains Pls see a picture of the problem:
