Inaccurate new users

Ever since we attached user IDs to users, our daily new users increased significantly. We are only storing events for our ios users and the new users count is surpassing our app download count which doesn’t make sense.

Hi team. I have been trying to create event analytics and unable to copy/save the dashboard as I get the error failed to save chart. Could someone look into it provide an update on how to fix this issue? It has been happening for the last 24 hours.

How to change experiment allocation/ targeting trigger ?

In the current experimentation UI in amplitude. we have the option to target all user or based on user property, but what we need is to target based on specific event.lets imagine that we have a funnel and Viewed landing page (first event in the funnel)  Amplitude normally assign users on variants before or after this event get fired  Clicked on product carousel  this is the event that we want to start assigning when it happen to include only in the experiment users who have done this event and the variants (treatment / control) should get exposed after firing this event.How to work on implementing solution 2. is there is a way from amplitude ui or it should be done using code ? and if with code, how to do it ?

Delay on clicks

when i added the snippet to my web site. All the clicks starting adding 3 to 5 second delay.I assume i am doing something incorrect? for example a click to open Modal took 5 seconds. Take away Amplitude and instant

What is the reason for "none" being recorded in the event property?

Hello,What is the reason for "none" being recorded in the event property? In our app, we have set it up so that all events are logged with predefined values, and if the value is unknown to the app, it is recorded as 'N/A'. However, in the actual Amplitude data, more than half of the values are recorded as "none."I am curious about the cases where "none" is recorded.

Funnel chart: users not necessarily triggering first event

Hello Amplitude communityI would like to ask if there’s a way to achieve the following:Funnel analysis with 10+ events In this funnel, users may have different events in the funnel triggered as their first step (not necessarily the first event of the funnel, which I understand it usually needs to be triggered for an user to be considered part of the funnel) The analysis is under “in any order” The specific use case is for a funnel that can start with users loading the Home Page (first event) but they might also be redirected from an external website directly to events 2, 3 or 4 of the funnel, and I still would like to consider them as part of the funnel. In this case, it would be possible that there are more users triggering event 2, 3 or 4 than event 1.Not sure if this is something feasible. Segmentation analysis would work for my case as a way to not have the events 2, 3, 4 depending on 1, but this type of analysis only allows up to 10 events.Any thoughts on how I can do it?Thank you

Create user segment that updates all project charts

Hello Amplitude teamUnderstand that we can create a default user segment that applies to all new charts created in a project. However, is it possible to create a segment that is applicable to all new charts and updates all existing charts inside a project to this new default user segment?In my case, I would like to create a segment based on an user property in which property values are often added and need to be filtered/updated. Hence, if it’s applicable only to new charts/analysis, it’s not practical since I would need to update the existing charts one by one.Thank you

Page engagement rate metric

Hey, anyone knows how to calculate page level metrics (keeping constant Page URL dimension).What I need to to build a table with:Page URL > Page viewed event > Engaged event > Page engagement rateThe page engagement rate is calculated as follows: (number of engaged events / number of page viewed events) * 100. However, I'm unsure how to calculate this in Amplitude. I’ve attempted various methods to implement this formula, but for some reason, the results don't align with the engaged/page viewed values when I use the calculator.Again the metric must be page level, not session or user level.Many thanks to anyone that can help

Inquiry on Auto-Filling Event Descriptions

Hello,I’m Jayeon Choi, the Data Governance Manager at Wantedlab. We have recently added new events with the same names as our existing events, but with the prefix "[WEAVER]" attached. I would like to locate the original event names without the prefix and automatically apply the existing descriptions (without prefix) to these new events(including images).For example,if we already have an event called "jobs__view" in our event list, I would like to add the same description of this existing event to the new event "[WEAVER] jobs__view". Could you guide us on how we might implement this in Amplitude?Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Snowflake key-pair authentication keeps failing and data export errors

I recently switch authentication for the user exporting data from Amplitude to Snowflake from username password to key-pair authentication. I follow the instruction on screen, but every time I switch from pw to key-pair, the export fails with the following codeErrorsError Type: SnowflakeTime: Invalid DateTimeMessage: JWT token is invalid. [143cbb72-85dc-4e2c-8bc7-fef3a0d42fd4]The login to Snowflake succeeds (I checked the login history table there). Also, if I switch back to password auth it works as expected. Given the very small degree of customization allowed here, I don’t know what might be happening and how to solve this.

I want to see all user IDs that have accessed a specific page.

Hi. I was wondering if there is a way to see how many user IDs have accessed a page called, for example, abc.com/a, and it would be nice to see the total number of user IDs.Currently, the way I've tried to look at this is by setting [events] under [segmentation] to abc.com/a lookup events, and [filter by] under [segmentation by] to user ID.  Additionally, I'm a free plan user. Once I did this, nothing was found for the User Id. I'm looking for help.

Session-replay interation issues

Rolling returning users cohort

I want to be able to create a cohort of returning users on a rolling basis. These would be users who do any event in the app, who had done the event ‘create an account’ on a previous day. I only seem to be able to create a cohort of users who had done the event before TODAY, not on a rolling basis so that I can see how many users on a given day were ones that had created an account on a previous day.Some example use cases of this:One of our partners sent out a marketing email last week, we want to see how effective this was at driving existing users back to the app. In our database we are able to see the number of users we had in a month, that had created their account in a previous month. We have seen a big increase in the number of returning users last month. We want to understand what brought them back to the app and what they did.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Safari on macOS Fails to Load Vue.js Site When Amplitude Browser SDK 2 is Integrated”

We have a Vue.js website that uses Amplitude as a primary analytics tool. Everything works well in general but we have some problems in Safari on MacOS.Once we add Amplitude module into the project, our website doesn't load on Safari. If we remove Amplitude module, it starts loading again.In chrome, it always works well, with&without Amplitude.We are using Browser SDK 2 and we tried both from npm registry(@amplitude/analytics-browser@^2.11.8) and from cdn(v2.10.0) directly. None of them worked for us.We are using Vue.js v3.3.4 with Vite v5.2.8.Can you please help us to figure out what the problem is?

Data tables grouping broken

Hi,anyone else with broken Data tables? We have a report with multi level grouping. It works on the top level, but when we want to group a row by another property, it say only “No data”. It worked well until yesterday.Since then, we are not able see the data. It is not a problem with our ingestion, it doesn’t display anything from history and as I said, it worked well until yesterday.It seems like a bug.

How does Amplitude calculate unique user count with "Any Event"?

 Hi Amplitude Community,I am wondering if anyone knows how Amplitude calculates the unique user count with “Any Event”?I tried matching the numbers by writing an SQL query that counts distinct number of Amplitude ID in each period, but the numbers did not match with the ones on the chart below. I want to know the exact criteria / formula by which the unique user count (Any Event) metrics are calculated on Amplitude. Thank you in advance!

Getting "Request missing required field" when I don't pass user_id while tracking with nodeJs SDK

I’m trying to track the events of users who are not authenticated with the help of amplitude. Clearly, the userId field is optional, and can be passed as undefined. ampli.propertySearchPerformed(undefined, { props }) But, when I do so - I got runtime error - “Request missing required field”.I’ve tried with ampli wrapper and track as well but got same issues.I’m using nodeJs SDK. How exactly, I can avoid passing user_id?

How to sync amplitude cohorts to hubpsot without losing user properties.In other terms, the current amplitude cohort sync contains all required information, however hubspot is only saving the email. any work arounds to save the remaining properties from amplitude in HubSpot?

Prevent Sending Ampli events to the Amplitude dashboard directly as we use segment

Hi There We are experiencing this maybe unique or not unique situation, where we do not want to directly send the event to Amplitude directly as we’ve got segment collecting the event and sending it back to Amplitude, which is the preferred flow. At the moment when the user fires an event it is collected twice. Is there any solution for this. We are using the new browser SDK2.Kind Regards Vallis
