Can we change the display name of a user property?

I have a user property that is sent with every event, named “country_cd”. It shows up as “country_cd” in the dropdown. I was wondering if I could change the display name of this property to “Country”, while keeping the field name as “country_cd” in our CSV.Thanks!

Good practices: how to test our app event trace.

Hello,Our app is evolving, we would like to make sure the tracking of our events is stable.It would be damageable, and hard to fix, if we realise after releasing the new version of our app, that some changes in the code made some event not be tracked anymore (refactoring, replacing features, ...). But that is what tests are for ! A test could perform “a normal walkthrough” of the app, and check that the event trace of this walkthrough is stable. How does those tests look like ? Does the Amplitude community has best practices for this use case, maybe a playbook, and eventually point to code or a git repository ?

IF statement in an analysis?

Hi everyone!I keep track of where we get applications on our website via amplitude. Today, I do so using utm’s, but we still cannot attribute a majority of where our applications came from :(However, I recently added referrer and referring domain as a second potential source. What I want to do now, is create an analysis where I sort my users by utm_source or referrer. To be more specific, if the user has an utm_source, mark her as such. If no utm_source, then mark by referrer. If the user has neither an utm_source or a referrer, then mark as (none). Is it possible to do so?For reference, this is a graph I have today, with applications per utm_source

Custom bucket interval controls in Sessions Length Distribution chart

Hello everyone,I noticed that there were some new session metrics available under the User Sessions chart ie. Total Session Counts, Total Time Spent and Average Time Spent per User.Along with this, we can now also customize the shape of the distribution by setting the minimum and maximum session lengths for the Sessions Length Distribution metric.  Using this, is it possible to set custom bucket intervals to specific granularity in the chart by dividing the time bucket as per our need?Previously, the chart showed intervals ranging from secs to mins to hrs in the same chart and was kinda the preferred way for most of our Amplitude users to consume this data.My specific use case is to have all sessions under 1 hr to be shown in intervals of 10 mins and anything above 1 hr in intervals of 1 hr.   I can do this using 2 separate charts, but wanted to know if it can be shown in the same chart. Thanks!

How data types are determined by Amplitude

Hello,I would like to understand a bit better how data types are determined for event properties & user properties.What if I send a property as string the first time, and then send all the following thousand events with the same property as number.Will the data type change to number or will it stay as string? Thanks.

Can unbounded retention be lower than N-day retention for the same time period?

 I compare weekly N-day and unbounded retention for the same segment, same starting and return event and same period, I often get the longer retentions (W+3 here) with a lower unbounded than N-day retention. But If unbounded retention counts all the users who have returned on Week 3 of later, shouldn’t it be at least as many as the number of users who returned exactly on Week 3?N-Day retention (weekly)Unbounded retention (weekly)

How to get EventType through Dashboard Rest Api

Hi,Get JSON results from any existing (saved) chart by chart ID.GET https://amplitude.com/api/3/chart/CHART_ID_HERE/queryThere is no EventType in the obtained result, but only one eventIndex. How do I obtain the corresponding EventType?

How to check data by time the user accessed

Hi, I have a question about amplitude data chart. What should I do for checking event data by the time they accessed the product? Now, I’m using segmentation chart and check ‘hourly’ data. But it can’t help to figure out what time users use our product most on average. Thanks!

Why in web browser Device Id before and after Login difference?

Hi, I’m a new user for Amplitude.I have a case, that when I tracked my funnel registration, my visitor in web browser identified as difference device id and session from their device id and session before register. I tested this journey in Google Chrome, but some how when I tested this flow in Mobile Web, the device ID was consistence before and after join.For instance:Device ID from Event before Join RegistrationDevice ID from Event After Join Registration Based on this article https://help.amplitude.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003135607-Tracking-Unique-UsersI assume, my journey would be consider as difference amplitude id right, and it would implicated if I wanna create funnel conversion cause my journey don’t consider as same person. So is this case caused by $identify or what should I do to solve this issue?Kindly for your advice in my cases. Thank you

How to update charts upon Saved Segments update?

Hello, I have 50+ charts using different segments such as:new users registered users premium users churned users …I need to update the definition of these segments, but it doesn’t update the charts - I don’t know if it’s a bug of the Amplitude designers want me to manually update 50+ all day long Is there any solution? Thanks
