Amplitude’s data management features are going through some exciting changes! We’re consolidating Iteratively’s data planning capabilities with Amplitude event and property management features into one central hub, with a brand new user interface. What does this mean for you? All of the data management that you did in Govern—things like blocking and deleting an event/property, changing the visibility status or activity status for an event/property, or creating custom events—will now be done in the new data management hub Data (Beta.) You’ll also be able to set up a workspace for your project and use the Tracking Plan feature to plan changes to your schema, set taxonomy rules, solicit feedback and reviews from your team. Here, you’ll also be able to view your event metadata and be alerted of schema violations. Example of adding events to your tracking plan: To learn more, check out the following docs: Amplitude Academy Course - Data(Beta) Iteratively Blog - How to make event trackin
Hi, Could you pls advise if there are a way to export the tracking plan (schema of events and events properties) to JSON format? I know that we can manually do that by downloading the CSV files, but is there a way to download the JSON format (may be through Ampli CLI?)Thank you!
Hello - I am looking for an guidance when it comes to a Tracking Plan for the Hotel/Hospitality industry. There is a lot of overlap between E-Commerce but there are certainly a lot more nuance properties outside of standard “promo” code used. Also - looking to connect with anyone in the hospitaity-tech/fin-tech space. Michael :)
Learn how Statsig used the Integration Portal to build an Event Streaming destination benefiting our mutual customers.OverviewStatsig is a modern feature-management and product experimentation platform that helps you to ship faster by providing actionable causal analysis, meaningful data insights, and automatically running 10x more experiments.Customers use like, Ancestry, Headspace and Notion use Statsig to measure the impact of feature rollouts or experiments on key products metrics. ChallengeTypically, most customers have minimal issues instrumenting specific metrics and events in Amplitude but can’t share this data with Statsig without jumping through hoops. This can involve installing a 3rd party Customer Data Platform (CDP) to forward the events from Amplitude to Statsig or exporting data from Amplitude into files and re-importing them into Statsig. These workaround solutions are fragile and create a higher chance of failure requiring ongoing maintenance. Additionally, file-based
Dissatisfied with its in-house behavioral analytics system, HubSpot implemented Amplitude to make data-informed decisions the company could trust. Today, 300+ people across marketing, design, engineering, analysis, research, and business development use Amplitude to understand customer behavior across products. Thanks to Amplitude, the team re-established trust in its data and discovered insights about customer cohorts that have led directly to product improvements. What does your current tech stack look like? Where are there silos? Where is duplication of data? Where do you house your data? Who manages the data infrastructure? What are the particular challenges with your current stack? Pick one question and share how Amplitude supported your progress in decreasing your data management costs. We can’t wait to learn from your experience. P.S.: Leading up to 2023, get involved in the Community for a chance to give back!
Hello all, Total newbie question and apologies in advance. I’m the main admin and literally signed up for the service, implemented it with my dev team, went to the conference (lol), and generating data, and yet have no clue as to why I can’t see a Govern tab in the lower left of my own environment whilst setup as an Admin. I have no issue seeing this selection on the demo environ, any ideas? Thanks in advance! Best,Eric
Hey there! I’m attempting to pull in historical event data previously captured with segment into a new amplitude project so that we can analyze usage on web vs. mobile. I’ve successfully connected snowflake into amplitude, but I am unsure how to structure the query as as to preserve and correctly pass in the user agent data. I have a field called context_user_agent in snowflake which contains the raw data passed in from segment data formatted as such: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.104.22.168 Safari/537.36 What field should I map this to in amplitude to be able to use the amplitude functional of segmenting on “platform” for instance?
“There are so many good features in Amplitude, but the biggest thing is that it changed how we operate. It has made my team and I so much more data-driven in how we think and work. If you make more data-driven decisions, you make better decisions.” - Ran Chen, Former Head of Consumer Product at GoFundMe. GoFundMe is a social fundraising platform enabling campaigns across the globe. Insight: Within months of using Amplitude, GoFundMe dug into the results of their experimentation effort. They examined the impact on gross donation volume (GDV) of new variations of their online fundraising experience – sharing campaigns.Action: As a result, GoFundMe doubled its commitment to product innovation. They expanded the number of sharing options, hypothesizing and testing more ways to share campaigns and changes to the fundraising page design and layout.Outcome: Grew GDV by 5% with new sharing experiences and another 4% with customer interface changes. With self-service analytics and experime
I have a project with two environments, a development env and a production env, and I need to be able to switch between those environments while the app is running after it has already been launched. This does not seem to be supported by Ampli, the code gen file provided by Amplitude. Am I mistaken?
Dear Amplitude community & support team, Recently, I have been trying to setup a Google Cloud Storage (GCS) file Import into Amplitude, in order to add an event based on our internal DB onto our Amplitude instance. For this, I followed the GCS Import tutorial in the documentation’s page (found here), and so did the following:First of all, I’m working on a Dev GCP environment + Dev instance of Amplitude for this setup The GCS Bucket as well as the Service Account with the appropriate permissions have been created I then followed the instructions in the “Add a new GCS source” step, and manged to create my Source, which now appears in the “Sources” page of my Amplitude instance. However, after this, when I try to Edit the Import Config, I am running into the following error: On my GCS Bucket, I have put a test file (of the json.gz format), both in the root of the folder given in the previous step, and also following the folder structure required by the “Storage organization requirement
A couple of months ago we changed one of our event properties from “pageName” to “Page name”. Currently, we’re only sending “Page name”. However, when looking at the event it’s still showing the old property coming through:Unexpected Property100% of event volume included this property while it was unexpectedThe new property is coming through as well, with a 1-1 matching to this one, the same number of events fired for both. If you remove the whitespace and the capitalisation they are the same “pagename”. Is there a reason for why I’m still seeing the old events coming through (even though we aren’t sending them in the payload)? Is there some way I can stop the old ones coming through, or is it intentional?
I currently have multiple projects depending what version of my iOS app is being launced. An example would be a dev project and a production project. What do I need to do so that the Ampli SDK automatically knows which project should be used?
Hi!Some days ago I removed a bunch of useless Event Properties in our Tracking Plan to not count towards our limit. They were successfully removed. After that we kept on receiving Events with those Properties and I realized that there’s a Schema Setting that I didn’t set to ‘Reject’ before removing the Properties. I’ve already changed it to ‘Reject’ and not store those Event Properties in the future. However, the problem is that I’m not being able to remove all stored Event Properties marked as ‘Unexpected’. How can I do that? Thanks in advance!
Hello! I have a question about environments. When project was started we do not set ‘multiple environment’. This value was not selected when the project was created. Now I want to add a test environment. Is there a safe way to do this for an already running project?
Hello! Our app is a react-native project and we already get some analitycs by amplitude about year. Now I want to improve amplitude usage for our project and I would like to use Ampli CLI for our app. If I try to executeampli pullI get the next warningWARNING You have yet to create a source in your account. Log into https://data.amplitude.com/ to create one.But in our app we have one source React native SDK with name ReactNative. Connected. Please tell me, is it possible to use ampli cli for react native project or maybe something wrong?
I’ve created a Segmentation graph that shows average shopping times. It takes a look at the shopping_time property of all shopping_completed events in a given day and plots the average of those values. I’m wondering if there is a way to apply a formula to the shopping_time values, which we are currently sending in milliseconds, so that we can show either seconds or minutes on the y-axis instead of what is currently milliseconds. Is this a possibility or do we just have to send the shopping_time values in whatever unit we are currently wanting to measure?
What I’m currently needing is a way to track the average amount of time it takes to complete the conversion from one event to another. I’m currently really close to achieving this, as we’re sending the events we’re needing to measure the time between and have a Funnel graph that shows “Current Median Time to Convert”, but I’m only interested in the average (or mean) time to convert, not the median. Is it possible to have this same type of graph or something similar but with average time to convert on the y-axis instead of median time? So far I haven’t been able to find a way to achieve this. I reached out to a member of Amplitude support a while ago and his only response to this question was that he did not currently know of a solution…
