Analysis with a dynamic date

Hey,I’m creating a Funnel Analysis to find out user/account count who performed specific events in an order in 7 days from their first date, but I also need to eliminate the users who haven’t had any events after 19 days of their sign up.Is there a way to enter the opposite of this filter? (like after 19 days of first use) Thank you!Gozde

How to find metadata for User Detail api

Hello, Is there any api available which can return metadata of the User details? I am using https://amplitude.com/api/2/useractivity?user={user_email}           to get detailed user information but I am looking for any api or documentation which will  give me metadata of this detailed information.

Filtering Out Employees / Job Applicants

Hello, I am looking for a way to filter out specific users in a backwards compatible manner. The scenario is the following: We have some of our employees and job applicants creating some accounts in our production environment and we would like to filter out all of their activity from our various charts and analyses. We have come up with a simple tagging system, i.e. tagging the user as “employee” or “applicant” in a custom user property. However, the user properties are time-based, so any events that have happened before we set the user property are still included in the charts. I am therefore looking for a way to look at specific events while using the CURRENT user properties of the users, as opposed to the user properties the user had at the time the event happened. If this is possible, any insight on how you have approached a similar situation would be greatly appreciated!  Cheers, Julien

Hi, Few questions,Can I use sql to query data in Amplitude events, the ones that are HTTP kind of events that are streamed using Segment I have two events with different columns and want to join these two events into a custom event based on key columns, how can I achieve this. If I don’t do a join the event data is displayed with blanks on each side where the column doesn’t exist in the breakdown table

Is ATT prompt a must to use amplitude event tracking?

Hi, I would like to know whether we have to use ATT prompt to use amplitude analysis. I have been thinking, as the data that we are collecting in amplitude cannot specify personal identity,It’s possible not to show the ATT prompt.(we don’t have the Attribution tool yet, which I know for sure that we need ATT prompt) I was wondering whether it is possible to just see the user activities without ATT promptif we collect the data that are not connected to user personaly, and that are not connected to attribution data (like SNS channel, etc) by the way, we are getting the info via HTTP API not SDK thanks! with best regards, Flor

Only track paths that lead to an "End Session" event?

We’re building a mobile app. I’m trying to track % of users who quit the app at each step of our onboarding process.I’m not 100% sure about what qualifies as a drop-off in the Funnel Analysis. My understanding is that whenever a user takes a path that’s different than the target funnel, it’s counted as a drop-off. However, here I’m only interested in paths that lead to and “End Session” event. For example, let’s say I want to know % of users who leave the app after seeing our Login Screen. When looking at the next step in the Funnel Analysis, it will say 20% drop off from last step. So I was first assuming that 20% of users were quitting the app after seeing Login Screen. However, after looking into the different User Paths of the users dropping-off, I can see that only 70% of these paths are “Login Screen” → “End Session” paths. So basically the % of users leaving the app is just a fraction of the drop-off % showed in the funnel analysis. First, am I getting this right? Second, what w

i am a developer on react.I have started developing kaios based react platform app for jio phone .Amplitude events were working fine before a week back.but from yesterday i am not able to trigger amplitude events on the jiophone but i am able to make it work on browser.can anybody help me.And i wanted to know is amplitude restricted to only to some certain type of platform or is it fixable to all the devices

How to Create and Save Custom Filters in Event Property

I have an Event called ‘Page View’ with properties such as ‘Page Slug’, ‘Page Route’. Is it possible to save a custom filter on Page Slug?Eg:I would like to create a custom filter WHERE ‘Page Slug’ = {‘apple’, ‘orange’, ‘banana’, ‘mango’, ‘watermelon’}We use this filter in many places, and there are over 50 values in the filter. The alternative is to send it as a property of its own, but we’d ideally like to see it for historical data as well.

No events returned after the first launch

Hi! I’ve encountered strange user behavior, which I suppose might be the problem connected with analytics. We have an event called first_launch that fires off when a user launches the app for the first time. This event should be followed by another event telling that the subscription screen is shown. They go one after another and normally should work even if the user opened and immediately closed the app. However, I see that 2.5% of users only get the event first_launch along with two standard Start Session events before and after it. Strangely, the first Start Session event has a Session ID equal to -1. We couldn’t reproduce that situation, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask Amplitude gurus what it can possibly be. :)I’d appreciate any ideas on that issue. P/S: Also, what may Session ID equal to -1 mean?

Event count distribution by unique users

I’m trying to see a distribution (Bar chart) of the number of users who triggered an event: Zero times; Once; Twice; Three times; Four times; etc… for all valid number of events triggered by one or more users in the period.So the result should show:zero Times: 10 usersOnce: 9 usersTwice: 4 usersThree times: 2 usersFour times: 1 users Any ideas on how I could achieve this?

[Dashboard REST API] Filtering events by users who performed another event

What should be the approach to track push notifications?

Hello! We have a mobile application with push notifications provided by Firebase. I’m trying to find some information about using Amplitude with push notifications.What I’d like to do:Track push sends events via server-side API Track push notification clicks (is it even possible?) Track opens from push notifications (it is implemented yet)I was trying to implement 1st before but I faced a problem that all users become “active” users because of server-side events. So, I saw them in DAU but actually they were offline, I just send an event that the push was sent. My questions:Is it possible to exclude server-side events from counting of the DAU? Events has disappeared

Hello,I’m using Amplitude for a long time but ~6-8 hours ago all user events has disappeared.I can’t see any event in “User Look-Up” and at user’s page.I can only see few events on charts but user streams are unavailable .

How to get separate stats for web and mobile app version names?

We have a mobile app (where Amplitude captures the version number automatically), and a web app (where we call setVersionName explicitly).Now when I try to see how many users are using the latest web version (User Composition by Version), I get mobile app version names mixed in, even after setting Platform to Web.What am I doing wrong?

Events performed any time within x days of first use (only new users in the past 90 days)

Hello, I am looking at user behaviour within the first few days of signup however I am curious about the note “(only new users in the past 90 days)” following the time period selection. Does this mean that my analysis is limited to a rolling 90-day window and I cannot look at my entire population over time? Thank you for your help!best, André

Inconsistent W1 Retention in 4W vs 8W

New to the community, I hope someone can help me with a questions around retention.When measuring weekly retention, why is my W1 retention in 4W view vs 8W view so different? ~59 vs 39%. I am pretty confident the inputs are correct. Am I missing something here?Thanks in advance!

Retention Analysis Starting Event Question

Hi, I have a (hopefully) simple question regarding setting up a retention analysis. We have an event called ‘user_login’, where this event could trigger many times for the same user over their lifespan on the product, but the first time it triggers represents a new user. We’d like to use this event as our starting event for retention analysis, but I’m a little unclear about what happens on each subsequent trigger of ‘user_login’ for the same user... Is it possible to setup the analysis so that it will only look at the first ‘user_login’ trigger per user? Or any other tips on how we can set something like this up? Thanks in advance!

Howdy folks!My team is considering adopting Amplitude Experiment, so I'm writing up a proposal. I had a question about backing up and exporting experiment data. I’m aware of the available options provided for the standard Amplitude analytics service, but I’m not able to find any documentation regarding the Experiment service specifically.Additionally, if we wanted to have our Experiment data synced to an external datastore, is that an option that’s provided to Experiment users?Are the data management options the same in both services, or do they differ, is my question essentially.Thanks a ton!Gabe

Creating Custom Event Properties

Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible to create custom event properties on top of already existing event properties? We have created custom events (eg: Event C = Either Event A or Event B) in the past, I was wondering if we could do soemthing similar with event properties (eg: Property C = concatenate Property A, ‘-’, Property B), or is it something that we’ll have to send as a new event property? Thank you.

A bug or I didin't understood the unbounded retention?

Hey community, I might have a silly question but still I couldn’t find an answer myself so here I am.On many retention graphs that I created when I switch to the unbounded retention I see areas where the graph goes up, meaning that the number of people returned on the day n+1 is greater than on the day n, which, if I got the defenition of the unbounded retention right, is impossible.Can you please help me with this puzzle?Thanks!
