Hi everyone, I need some help with understanding how to segment funnels. I need to measure the impact on funnel conversion, when users perform certain events vs not.So for example, my funnel is ‘viewed products > viewed basket > submitted the order from the basket”, and I want to see what’s the impact of users engaging with some filters on the product page. For this, I’ve created two segments, and was particular about setting the “any time - within 10 mins” the same time frame as the overall completion time of the funnel, to make sure I’m accurately ONLY including users who engage with the filter within the same journey, rather than a later session. Nevertheless, my confidence is low because the data surprises me, and when I explore the journey paths, I see some users engaging with the filters in the “didn’t use filter” segment and vice versa. Also, I am not quite sure how to get accurate trend data for this funnel, for example, weekly. Choosing: any time - within the same week
Hello - I am struggling with creating a session report that behaves like a funnel and shows conversion rate. i think the sessions reporting analysis is what i need but all i see is a “timeline” output. I am needing to see a purchase event / total numbers of sessions = conversion rateBut the closes thing i get is a chart at the bottom with the total number of sessions.
So I’m trying to make sense of Retention reports but something strikes me as odd.I’ve chosen a starting even and a returning event for my report in the event module. While exploring the data, I noticed that monthly cohorts include users from previous month as well While the figure for November 2021 is correct, the figure for December 2021 includes returning users from the previous months as well as new ones. This can be verified by looking at the lifecycle report which shows 307 news users and 57 returning ones (which adds up to 357 in the retention report). Same applies to all the subsequent months. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Clearly my expectation of how the retention report is supposed to work doesn’t match the reality. I need clarification. Thanks everybody!
Hi allI would like the Miro integration with the eu data residency analytics.eu.amplitude.com. When I push the Authenticate button in Miro, the redirect will fail. I guess the reason is because it will redirect to https://notify.amplitude.com/integrations and not https://notify.eu.amplitude.com/integrations.Any chance how I can fix this problem with a workaround? Thanks,Sandro
Hey,I’ve steps in the platform the can be triggered by different users and I want to measure the avg time between steps. For example I’ve task and each task have status (open, in progress, done) and I want to see the avg time for moving open to in progress and in progress to done. But the events can be triggered by different users. How can I do it? should I using funnel or any other chart?
Hi community,Is there a way to create a funnel to see how many users had a certain event as their ‘first’ event in a period.I.e. it is currently possible to exclude users who performed certain events between other events in the funnel (see screenshot). But is it possible to exclude users who performed certain events before the first event in the funnel. Specifically, I want to know how many of our daily users opened a push notification without having opened our app previously that day - are my push notifications generating daily usage that otherwise would not have taken place, or is it only users that are already active that open my push notifications. In the screenshot, I want to see “opened push notifications” and then exclude all ‘start sessions’ performed before the ‘push notification’. Thank you!
Hello,I’m new here ( i basically started a week ago ), and i wanted to know what is wrong with my graph => I want to track how many user are using a specific feature ( with user session ) when they connect, but when i do so, here’s what happen There is a flat line, which i know is false so something must be false in my command?I hope anybody can help me =)
Hi. This might be just a simple yes or no question. Is there anyway to change all the charts in one dashboard easily? I have a template dashboard with about thirty charts and I use it to create a new client. I have to change each of the chart for every client to recreate the whole dashboard.
Hi everyone,I created a formula which measures DAU and WAU of a specific event. How do I retrieve the users who conducted this event?I tried to group by username but the numbers don’t add up (the chart shows 50 WAU but when I export the excel sheet he numbers are lower on that week (and over the time span are higher). Is there a way to conduct “click to inspect” and then “download users” like in the unique or totals tab? Thanks :)Etai
Hello, Is there a way to display users that did not convert of perform an event? I am aware that the percentage of users that dropped off is displayed, but I am looking for a way to highlight that instead of percent users that converted. Essentially, I am looking for the inverse of whats display in a standard funnel conversion chart.
Hi there, How to create a graph to measure the registration rate? For the moment, I have done a funnel analysis with events performed 1/ any active event 2/ sign_in completedIs this correct?I'm surprise not finding a default event "launch session" that would have been useful in my case : during the first session, how many users have been created an account. Thank you for the help,
Hello, We have a dashboard that contains charts owned by multiple people. This dashboard is shared externally with the client. We recently exceeded the 365 days time filter limit on a lot of the charts. I maintain the dashboard and I am trying to figure out the easiest way to update the time filter on all the charts without having to recreate a lot of them (ones I dont own). I would appreciate any tips or suggestions on how to bring our dashboard back to live for the anxious client.
Hello!I am trying to study user behaviour after a few key events are performed, which we use to determine whether a user is activated or not. For example:User1 has performed event A + Event B + Event C, User 1 = ActivatedHowever, when creating a custom event I see that the custom event will be triggered if any of the events are performed, which doesn’t really help my mechanic at all. Is there a better way to conduct this analysis or a workaround so that I may have events work with AND instead of OR? Thank you beforehand for your help!
Hi all! I understand Amplitude funnel’s provide an “exclude” feature; you can exclude a user if they perform a certain event between steps of the funnel. Is there anyway to exclude users who performed a certain event *not* between steps of the funnel? I suspect the answer is “No” (it’s not obviously available on the funnel page), but figured I would check. Assuming the answer is “No”: does anyone have an approach for performing analyses like this? One thought was to make sure user properties are set for the kinds of things you want to exclude on, but using events is more convenient since we already have events being sent.
When doing funnel analysis, we often find ourselves wanting to look at segments of users that have never completed a step in the funnel previously or consequently, users that have already completed a step in the funnel previously. I know amplitude has a “new” user filter, but is there a way to create a similar filter to look at subsets of users who have performed or not performed events prior?
Hi - frequent listener 1st time caller! I’m hoping for some guidance around how to use Application Install in my funnel analysis. I’ve broken out my questions below:I don’t see ‘Application Installed’ in any of Amplitudes funnel literature, so is that my 1st mistake? In the past I was only able to use ‘Application Installed’ in an event segmentation chart - as soon as I used it in a funnel I showed 0 conversion. We figured out that this was due to our Segment integration and updated that about two weeks ago. This has led to some unanticipated consequences (doesn’t it always). Our ‘Application Install’ numbers shot up. It appears that we are now tracking ALL installs - both net new and re-installs. When I filer the Application Install number by new users it drops it down but over the last 2 weeks its has been 92% of the number that I see when I look directly at my installs in the app stores. Is that a discrepancy that I’m just going to have to live with? Is there anything else that I
We have been using amplitude analytics service for a while now , overall analytics works perfect for us. We are facing one issue one of our events created a duplicate entry of properties in analytics which continuously show that we have exceeded the limit of events for our plan. Even though we have deleted the event causing this issue and we are no longer logging it . Please help us to clear this issue.
We’re looking to build an activation funnel, with our core activation metric being if a user viewed a specific type of content 5+ times within the first week. The funnel we have is quite simple for now - we’re looking at the Registration event, then 2nd event is Pageview → PageType*5This is where I then get stuck - I can’t seem to add a metric to say “viewed 5 pages of this page type”. Do I need to set this up somewhere else? Almost like a goal in Google Analytics and track that funnel?
Hi, I’m trying to run a simple Dashboard REST API requests and getting `HTTP 401: Unauthorized` error in any response. In particular, I’m calling `GET` https://amplitude.com/api/2/users with `Authorization` header set to `Basic [api_key]:[secret_key]`. API key and secret key are obtained from https://analytics.amplitude.com/[...]/settings/projects/[...]/general. It works as if my API key pair is invalid. What am I missing?
Hello Community! First topic here 😊 I am Nico, Product Manager in a startup from ArgentinaContext: We have a step-by-step modal to set up a new product in our platform. The events that track the actions in this setup are being sent all together at the end, when the user finish the set up. Question: Do I need to send the event of each step separately to track drop-off in a Funnel analysis? Or it’s ok to send it all together? I’m a bit in a lockdown with this situation 🤣 any suggestion will be appreciated! Thanks a lot
Hello Community !We lauched a new feature and I want to measure the cumulated number of users who used it since its launch.I am thinking about using CUMSUM(UNIQUE) on an event, with a Monthly frequency.Let’s call the event AI get the following chartMy question is the following : if a user performs the event once on Month 1 (Jul 22) and once on Month 2 (Aug 22)is he counted as user only in Month 1 OR is he counted as a user in Month 1 AND in Month 2 ?What I want is the first option, as I want to calculate the penetration rate of the feature.Does someone have the answer ?Thanks for your help !
