How to pass 'FORMULA' in Event Segmentation API

Hello Amplitude Members, Hope you are doing well. I am fairly new to Amplitude and we are using this in our application to track multiple events and property. I am using ‘Event Segmentation API’ to fetch information regarding an event by passing the event-property and group by too. One last thing is to pass ‘FORMULA’ in my api. I can see, that there’s a param named formula, and I tried passing it like propcount(A);  PROPCOUNT(A) “PROPCOUNT(A)” PROPCOUNT( e param’s value )but none of them gave the right answer, can I please know the exact way to pass this formula in API ?Thanks and Regards Manish Sharma

Multi-tenancy support for session tracking

Hi All, In my application, a user can be associated with different tenants (for example lets say societies or apartments). Now I need to track his/her session and events differently with different tenants.Lets say, he is in society-abc for now and his session and events are being tracked. Now he goes to the profile section in the app and changes the society to xyz, now the events should be tracked separately because we need analysis of how much time users spent and other parameters in society abc and xyz.Is there any way we can implement this in ampliude?

Quantify impact of a fix

Hello! Is there a way to quantify the impact of a fix release on a set of charts? I am aware of the release annotation functionality, but I am looking for a functionality that would provide more insights in a chart view. Something like, since release of this fix, we’ve seen metric X increase by Y percent.  Thanks, Abdul

Calculating the conversion of part of a funnel A>B>C>D

Hi everyone!I have a funnel that’s based on page views and the first page A is very frequent and a beginning of many funnels. The page B is actually the beginning of the (sub)funnel I’m interested in.I’m interested in calculating the conversion of the funnel A-B-C-D, but only of the steps B-C-DIs there am easy way to calculate that in Amplitude except the manual way where I setup the funnel A-B-C-D and then manually divide the D / B?Best regardsLuka

Can I use the latest version of json library?

The documentation on https://www.docs.developers.amplitude.com/data/sdks/java/ says:dependencies { implementation 'org.json:json:20201115' implementation 'com.amplitude:java-sdk:1.10.0'}It seems that the json library version is a little bit old:https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.json/json Do you recommend us use the latest version of json lib? // https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.json/jsonimplementation 'org.json:json:20220924'

Amplitude gives UsageTime as UserProperty but I can't use it in any Funnel/Graph/etc.

I would like to use UsageTime as a segmentation parameter.I see that Amplitude provides it as a User Property, however I cannot use it in any report (Funnel, Segmentation, etc.).We currently don't have any custom event or property for that so I would like to rely on Amplitude data for this (meanwhile...).How can I check the UsageTime in the reports?

Undeleting an event property

Hi,I have this issue where we once deleted a property from an event and we now need it again.is it possible to add it again?seems like its just on Amplitude’s part that id doesn't register Thanks!

Client Event Timestamp vs Client Upload Timestamp

Hello,Looking at various Event Streams of my users, I’ve noticed that the Client Event Time & Client Upload Time have various time spans between them. Sometimes they are seconds apart, sometimes hours, sometimes days. Seconds or hours isn’t necessarily a big deal, but events uploading days later is causing real problems for us. I understand that the Amplitude SDK has a batching mechanism so I don’t expect the timestamps to match exactly. My question is there a way in amplitude to graph the skew of client event and client upload time? I want to get an idea of on average how far behind is the client upload from the client event time. I found this old blog post with a chart that I want to recreate with our data (https://amplitude.com/blog/dont-trust-client-data) but the link at the bottom of the post is broken (https://amplitude.com/docs#timestamps). Attached is a screenshot of an event that was uploaded days later: Does anyone have ideas or recommendations on how to visualize this? Is it possible to remove Android COARSE_LOCATION permission?

Hey community! 🖐 I recently added Amplitude to my Android project, and I’m now getting this warning in the Play Store when I upload a new bundle containing Amplitude. After digging into my merged manifest, I found that it was indeed Amplitude that had added the “COARSE_LOCATION” permission. I know that I can disable various tracking options, but is there a way to disable them and remove this permission from our app, yet still use Amplitude?

Can I disable using client_event_time without adjustment when difference is less than 60 seconds?

Invalid id length for user_id or device_id

Hello!I'm getting this error when using .identify method from @amplitude/nodeIn fact, the user_id im using has less than 5 characters and I do understand that this is the HTTP v2 API rule.But the point is, I have thousands of users in my project that have user_ids that are less than 5 characters long.. so now I will never be able to add properties to them from my nodejs app?

Required versus Optional event property

I want to set up some event properties that are used by many events, however I have noticed that I cannot have it set as required for some events, and optional for others. When I change an event property to optional, it changes it to optional for all events. Is it possible to have some properties be optional for some events, and required for others?Did I hit a bug or a feature?

Compilation error after generating code

Errors with Amplitude ID importing cohorts

I am trying to upload cohorts using csv file.I have customer data that was not on Amplitude. I wanted to use Amplitude cohort analysis so I created Amplitude ID for each customer information randomizing 12 number characters starting with number 4, all are integers. I tried to upload this cohort but got error message of Amplitude ID have to be integers (although mine were integers already).Can someone help me figure out where the problem is? Is ROLLWINBEFORE working?

Hi, I’m using the ROLLWINBEFORE formula and noticing it produces the same result as ROLLWIN. For a monthly metric, I’m expecting ROLLWIN(UNIQUES, A, 1) gives result for the current month while ROLLWINBEFORE(UNIQUES, A, 1) gives result for last month. Am I interpreting this wrongly? Unable to fetch the users information from a funnel chart

Hi, i’m trying to create a spreadsheet to display on what stage of the funnel have my users reached.The first thing i tried, was to use the endpoint `https://amplitude.com/api/3/chart/chart_id/query`, but it only brings general information about the quantity of user on each stage of the funnel, it doesn’t even bring the id of the users on each stage The data i need is the same i get when i download the users on a step of the funnel, but on my research on the documentation, i couldn’t find any endpoint that would let me get this specific information. (the users on this specified funnel chart) Is there any way i could get this information through the API?

Developer API for updating segmentation chart

I’d like to programmatically update an event segmentation chart.  Specifically I’d like to either:Update the where filter in an event module OR Update the custom date of the Compare to past option in the Properties tabIs this possible with the Amplitude developer APIs?  Thanks!Edit: For context, I have a chart that shows data for the last N releases of our app.  As new releases are pushed out, I’d like to automatically update the chart to show the latest releases.  Right now, we need to manually update the chart for each release.

Reduce steps to obtain user properties

Our team has a Lifecycle chart that shows users who were dormant this past week. I want to make it easy to reach out to those users and learn why they were dormant. Right now on the Lifecycle chart, I click the Dormant Users bar → click View Users → click each User ID one-by-one → click See all other User properties → and then I can see which user it is! Is there a way to surface the user property that enables me to identify this user (e.g. email or name) with fewer clicks? Thanks!

Computing and displaying WAU percentage

Our team wants to track WAU within our “Target Users” cohort. The numerator should be the number of target users who have an active event in the last 7 days. The denominator should be the total number of target users.I want to display WAU of Target Users as a percentage KPI on our dashboard.I tried to accomplish this by creating a segmentation chart and selecting Active %. I also tried using a Formula of UNIQUES(A1)/UNIQUES(A2) where A1 = Target Users who have an active event and A1 = Target Users. However, inclusion in the segmentation chart is based on whether the user has Any Active Event which means the denominator is incorrect. I need to make the denominator all Target Users rather than pre-filtering on those who have Any Active Event.In terms of displaying the result, I’ve selected to display it in KPI format so it’s a single number, rather a line chart format on the dashboard.I’d like advice on how to compute and display the WAU percentage. Thanks!

Alerts: Comparing with data from over 1 week ago.

Hello, I’m just getting started setting up alerts for some of our key metrics.  One thing I’d like to do is trigger an alert if a metric is a certain percentage higher than it was 3 months ago.  I see our options are comparing to the previous day’s value and the previous week’s value but no option beyond that.  Is it possible to compare data values from further back?  Thanks!

How to hide Get Started walkthroughs

We have completed all suggested steps in the Get Started walkthroughs that is pinned to the bottom right of the screen, and I cannot get it to either progress through the steps or be hidden. If I click on the arrows to see more information on incomplete walkthroughs, nothing happens.How can I remove this? Enabling SSO with existing users in Amplitude

Please, we need to know, what will it happen if we enable SSO in our Amplitude.I mean, at this moment, we have 350 active users (locally in Amplitude). And we are planning to enable SSO. So:The access to existing content will lost or everything is going to be ok after enabling SSO?What will it happen with every ROLE-TEAM per user after enabling SSO? Will it be necessary to re assign againa one by one after enabling SSO?This is urgent for us, as you know, local users is a very high risk.Thank you.
