Amplitude gives UsageTime as UserProperty but I can't use it in any Funnel/Graph/etc.

I would like to use UsageTime as a segmentation parameter.

I see that Amplitude provides it as a User Property, however I cannot use it in any report (Funnel, Segmentation, etc.).

We currently don't have any custom event or property for that so I would like to rely on Amplitude data for this (meanwhile...).

How can I check the UsageTime in the reports?

Hey @mariocamus

The Usage Time property is one of the usage metrics calculated for each user along with Total Sessions and Total Events as seen in the user details UI.

AFAIK, these set of aggregate stats aren’t available to query as default Amplitude user properties for a user - both in charts as well as via API. They are just part of the user details UI currently.

Two potential approaches for tackling this use case-

  • Calculate these on your end and send as custom user properties ( but they will have to be updated periodically to reflect the accurate count)
  • Try using the Computations featureset for counting/summing , but I don’t think the total usage time will be straighforward to calculate via this.

Hope this helps.
