We’re excited to introduce the new home of Amplitude’s developer content. The new Amplitude Developer Center brings all of our resources for developers together on a single website. Before, our developer content was split across three different websites. You couldn’t search everything at once, and you couldn’t easily navigate between sets of content. It’s better to show than to tell, so let’s take a tour of the new site! The home page links to the content for each product and other helpful resources. You can use the search bar, or you can navigate straight to the docs for the product you’re working with. Clicking on an item in the top navigation takes you to the overview page for that product. Here, you can read a product overview and find the information you need quickly. Use the left navigation to jump between topics. In each topic, use the table of contents on the right to jump to different sections. Documentation featuresThe new site is packed with useful features that make the d
Hi,I am trying to understand the exact definition of a “New” user in amplitude. As a comparison, I understand the “Active” user is that in the defined period of time, say from June 1 - June 30, there is an user event triggered on June 2 … this user is “Active” … and if defined period is from June 5 - June 10...then the user is not “Active”…But for “New” user, Let use the above timeline, this user triggered an event on June 2, and at the same time, the user had events in May, April or earlier dates… if i define the time period from June 1 - June 30, would Amplitude treat this user as a “New” user although there are earlier activities/events?Thanks, Bill
Hey there, have a pretty newbie question I guess but I fail to find an answer for it on my own:So I’m trying to visualise a simple funnel, with 2 steps:1. Page Created;2. Page Published. The second step represents how many unique pages were published by our users. Now, regardless of the settings like: “completed within” or any other options that I can modify, like “Unique users” or “Totals”, it always shows me 0 in the amount of the second step.If I remove the first step and step 2 becomes step 1 - I see thousands of it in volume. How should I approach this issue?
AmplitudeSegment I only joined Amplitude recently, and when I’m trying to integrate with Segment, there’s a blocker that I can’t solve. When creating a new project on Amplitude, I only receive a product API key. However, when I’m integrating with Segment, they requred me to input 2 keys, one API and one secret key.Am I missing something? Please kindly shed some lights.
In my retention chart, I am noticing that my denominator is changing every day in the calculation of Retention %. My understanding was - Day 0 it shows that there are 9885 users, and of them 18.3% came back on Day 1 - which means 1808 usersBut if you look at the numbers on the tooltip, it says 1733 users have come back out of 9482. Where have the rest of the 403 (9885-9482) users gone?Could someone please help me make sense of this?
Hi, Guys.We found that there are a large number of users with only one event([Experiment] Assignment) in our project and no action after. Such users are close to 100,000 per day, But in this project we have less than 100 users. So we want know: 1.how these users are generated? 2.Why these users are generated and what is the role? 3.how we handle?data link: https://analytics.amplitude.com/carsome/chart/new/4ii7idcuser as picture:
Hello,We are having problems in identifying traffic sources from UTMs, FBclid and Gclid. We set up Amplitude SDK in our digital asset with Google Tag Manager using Amplitude GTM Template. This is how we set up the initilization: We added the recommended option keys so we could track all the traffic. Despite of that, we are not getting any UTM from the gclid. As an example we can search for our page in Google. Then click in the ad and not getting any UTM data. But the gclid is being captured without problems. In this example from Google Analytics data in BigQuery, Gclid can be interpretated into UTMs but we’re not getting this information in Amplitude. As a results of this, when we analyze User Composition by Source, we can’t find Google on it and also any Campaign and Keyword data from Google and some from Facebook.
Let’s assume that we have event X and Y, and we have users A and B that has both of the events. When user A do the event X, I want to increase the number of event Y’s in user B. Is it possible in any way? Can I change the other user’s properties?
HelloIs it possible to block sending an event in amplitude when the condition of a custom event property value =x is met. For eg: block sending ‘application launch (event)’ when ‘app version( event property) =x’. In this case, ‘application launch' event should still get sent if ‘app version’ =’y’.Thanks in advance
It would be awesome if the Funnel conversion chart tooltip and takeaway text for each series would update with the labels the user sets, similar to the functionality of Segment charts. The screenshot below shows how I changed the label for each funnel step so it’s easier to consume but neither the tooltip nor the takeaway text reflect the changes I made. For example, the tooltip label should say % of photo click users clicking on profile: 46.7% (35 of 75)
Currently only possible for events/event properties and user properties. In short, have the same level of control in Govern for group properties as we have now for user properties. P.S. Will the Govern UI be deprecated in favor of Amplitude Data? Or will those be two distinct workflows?
Hey there,So the title explains it all. I want to add an annotation to the chart once we do an onboarding change so we can keep track of the changes that we make and look at the data based on those changes. I would like this annotation to show up on the graph so we can quickly visualize when a change was made. Should I use Annotation or Release for what I’m looking to do. I’m a bit confused right now. Thank you,Rami
Hi there, New to this space so hello to everyone here! Wanted to check whether it’s possible to remove historically collected data, specifically a set of direct PHI identifiers that were saved as user properties (IP/Lat/Long) in Amplitude. ideally, would not want to delete all previously registered events from Amplitude but more so just the underlying properties that make it non-compliant at the moment.
Let’s say I have a funnel with 3 steps in this order (properties on indented lines):Do you have a vehicle? What vehicle types do you like? Type: [sports, suv, compact, motorcycles] What features do you like Features: [ac, steering, electric] If a user only selects motorcycles in step 2, they will not be shown step 3.I’d love to show a funnel that shows conversion through all three stages of the form, but I want to filter by users who selected sports, suv, or compact in step 2.I understand this means step 1 to step 2 will have zero drop-off.I want to measure the car lovers for finishing the form, so I don’t want to add a filter to step 2, “where Type contains sports, suv, compact”, because that will make our conversion look terrible if half of the folks who start the form only like motorcycles.I can start my funnel on step 2, but I want to emphasize that there are 3 events in the funnel, not 2.Question: How do I filter step 1 by their future choice in step 2?
Hi All, I have a question regarding the Log out the user we want to log events under an anonymous user. Based on the explanation below, could you please let me know what will happen to Amplitude ID? As Amplitude ID is used to count unique users, I am bit worried that some users will be counted twice. “Log Out and Anonymous UsersA user's data will be merged on the backend so that any events up to that point from the same browser will be tracked under the same user. If a user logs out or you want to log the events under an anonymous user, you will need to: Set the userId to null. Regenerate a new deviceId. After doing that, events coming from the current user/device will appear as a brand new user in Amplitude. Note: If you choose to do this, you will not be able to see that the two users were using the same device.”Thanks. Mateja
Dear, I have created an account and an organisation for Amplitude, but unfortunately just realised it does not fit my needs and I would like to remove all data and info connected to my account and organisation.I could not find this option in the general settings of the organisation and read on the related topic “Delete organisation” that it is possible for the Amplitude Team to remove all data, by providing the organisation ID. Is this correct?Looking forward for the response and have a great day!Simon Stouten
