What permissions does LaunchDarkly Cohort sync really need?

The instructions for setting up syncing of Amplitude cohorts to LaunchDarkly suggest creating an access token with Writer permissions, which has write access to pretty much everything except account members and billing. That seems like much more than is needed to do what the sync needs, as AFAICT it just creates and updates Segments in LD. Does anyone know what access is actually required, to what objects, in order for the sync to work? I’m considering creating a custom role that only has write permissions to Segments, for instance.

Filter for only entry event

How do I filter event for only the times it was the entry event for a session? In other words, where it was the first event when the user landed on the site in that session? I can’t figure out how to do this.

Allow users to customize the API endpoint for the Amplitude Event Explorer Chrome ExtensionNew

I’m currently proxying all requests to Amplitude via an API gateway. This prevents me from using the Amplitude Event Explorer. To work around this problem, I’m copying the extension, inserting my custom end point into the extension source code, and then manually loading the extension so it detects my events. This is a chore. If I wanted to share this with my co-workers, I’d have to publish my own copy of the extension which might not line up with the terms of use. If the extension were open source, I might be tempted to fix this myself. :-)

What's the best way to handle data from 2 platforms (i.e. example.com and blog.example.com)

We have two sites that we’d like to track using Amplitude (i.e. example.com and blog.example.com).We were planning to set up one project for each site, but we want to be able to analyze the data from both sites in one dashboard on Amplitude.What would be the best approach for this?

Total of UTM medium visitors not equal to total visitors

Hi there, When I try and track where all my page visitors are coming from by grouping by utm_medium, I find that summing of the number of unique visitors from across all mediums (including (none)) gives a total which is far below the total number of unique visitors to the site.Please can you help explain if I have done something incorrectly or why this is?Thank you!

Amplitude Hubspot Integration: List Created and Not Populated

I’m running into problems getting Amplitude Hubspot Integration to work.I’ve followed the instructions detailed in Send Cohorts to HubSpot and they seem to almost work.Amplitude setup step works Send a cohort works according to the Amplitude UIHowever, when i examine the Cohorts in HubSpot, I find that a contacts list is created with the correct name, i.e. with the Amplitude_ prefix, but the list is empty and remains empty despite Amplitude claiming it has synced users to the list.

Retrieving User Events Data

Is there a way to establish an API call that pulls data from the user that consists of their: Event stream  Grouped by session ID  Each event with: Event name  Start time  We’re looking to analyze the different sessions a user has, mostly focused on the start time of the session and the duration that it lasts.

Setting event timestamp during import

Hello, We have a stack using hightouch, rudderstack, and amplitude to import order data to amplitude. When an event is created in amplitude, it seems to use the timestamp when it is imported, not a designated timestamp.  Am I missing something or can this value not be set?

Updating Revenue Property Mapping for Events Tracked via Segment

We use Segment's SDK to track our events, specifically the purchase and refund actions.Here's a brief overview of our setup:We track a "Package Purchased" event when a user makes a purchase. We also track a "Package Refunded" event when a refund is issued to a user.We originally used a property named 'revenue' to track the monetary value of these events. However, we recently fixed an issue where this value was being reported in various currencies without standardisation. We have now standardised this to use USD and have renamed the property 'revenueUSD'. The 'revenue' property is no longer being sent as part of these events.With this change in our event setup, I have two questions: How can we inform Amplitude that the 'revenueUSD' property in our "Package Purchased" event should now be considered as Revenue for use in revenue-related reports like LTV? Is there a way to communicate to Amplitude that the 'revenueUSD' field in the "Package Refunded" event represents negative revenue?

How to make dashboard with Pathfinder and Client Search

Hi guys,i might have a dumb question but my management wants me to make it easier for them to navigate around Pathfinder report, right now when they choose and download csv they need to open in a new tab Users look up and then to search by Amplitude ID or by CRM ID, and that is way too much for them so is it possible to incorporate somehow in one page pathfinder report and users look up so that we can make further analysis on the go?Best regardsPetar Maksimovic

How to use Location (Latitude & Longitude) for reporting in Amplitude ?

Hi.We have the Android SDK in a App, where we ask for Exact permission for tracking.We set locationListening = truehttps://www.docs.developers.amplitude.com/data/sdks/android-kotlin/#location-trackingSo now we have the Latitude & Longitude, for every single event down to meters. But what then ? How can we best use this inside the Ampltude platform ?I can’t find a single Analytics report prebuild to use this input. I would expect a simple map, or heatmap.The intended case was to see where in our Country the main App users are located.Any ideas, ore are intended to forward/export the data to use it ?

Event properties not set flutter web

Hi,I am developing a flutter web application.I am tracking events using the flutter sdk version 3.14.0. The events are tracked and work.The issue is with event properties: they are not tracked. The JSON sent does not contain them.Here is how I track an event:Amplitude.getInstance("instance_name").logEvent( "activity_create", { "activity_type": type.toString(), }, null, null, false,);It looks a little bit different than the guide but that is because the code in the guide is outdated - using analytics.logEvent('MyApp startup', eventProperties: { 'friend_num': 10, 'is_heavy_user': true });throws compile errors.Any idea on what might be wrong?

Amplitude Hubspot integration : list created but missing users

Hello,  I created cohort A on May 17 in amplitude. The cohort size was 623 users.I setup hubspot integration to send users to Hubspot on the same date The list of users appear in Hubspot but only 621 users are synced to Hubspot ( 2 users missing )  All users in cohort have email adresses  Hubspot integration parameters :

Amplitude integration with SnowPlow

Hello, I just started at a company that uses SnowPlow for sending events to different tools.I took a look at the snowplow doc and our implementation, and it looks like we're using 'custom structured events' which have a category, a label, and only one property field (which we fill with a json in order to pass several properties)SnwoPlow’s doc about this is here: https://docs.snowplow.io/docs/understanding-your-pipeline/canonical-event/ Question: did anyone successfully integrate Snowplow and Amplitude? If so, how? I did some research and looks like it’s feasible via Google Tag Manager but that sounds like a clunky hack.From the looks of it, I would be better off going the Amplitude SDK route, but the upside of connecting with Snowplow is the ability for snowplow to send historical data. Thanks in advance!

Examples of cross domain implementation with third party cookie

Hi all!Amplitude newbie here so hoping to learn from someone who has done this before. We're trying to implement cross-(sub)domain tracking between our marketing site (think example.com) and web app (think portal.example.com). Right now we have Amplitude on both sites but the user histories are not stitched together, as if Amplitude can’t merge the IDs.We are following the steps in the documentation https://help.amplitude.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003135607#h_f717e48c-460c-4a17-abd7-102327673798 but on step 2 we cannot use URL parameters because of the nature of the experience, only third party cookies would be viable. How can we implement a third party cookie that sends the device ID to the portal site so that, even if time passes between user visits the marketing sites and then converts, we can track it? Has anybody found a best practice to accomplish for subdomains in particular? Thanks in advance! Veronica PS: reached out to support already but they don’t have any example implementa

Amplitude Hubspot integration : List created but not updated with hourly sync setup in amplitude

Hello, I created a cohort of users in Amplitude then I synced to Hubspot with the hourly sync setup in May 23 at 3:18pm. Since then no update had been sent to Hubspot. we are May 24 but the sync is still showing last sync May 23 3:18pmAny one have experience this before ?

Funnel Conversion: Users are missing

I’m creating a funnel analysis on Amplitude, as I wanted to see specifically which users dropped off. However, when selecting the drop-off area and “View users”, there were users that I know completed the second action, because when using User lookup, I can see both events in the funnel were triggered. Is there a setting I’m misinterpreting the funnel?

How to join events on shared property

I have 2 custom events called asset_download_started and asset_download_completed, they both share a property between them called assetId, asset_download_started has a property called entryName that the other event does not have and asset_download_completed has a property called downloadTime that the other event does not have. So, just to recap, both events share assetId one of them has entryName and the other one has downloadTime. Now what I want to do is to join this events, just like you would on traditional SQL, on assetId so that I can make a chart where I can display the average downloadTime grouped by entryName.Can I do this in amplitude? If so how? All of the things i’ve tried so far have not worked.

Segmentation failure by initial_utm for merged users

We merge user sessions after successful registration. However, our analytics report shows incorrect segmentation by the initial UTM.  (“Signed up” user event has no initial_utm, but after merging sessions, the user has initial UTM)For example, user 10041 is in NONE group for Signed up event, even he has initial_utm_source set up.How can this be fixed?

I was able to add Google Tag Manager as a data source. I have added one PageView tag. Do I need to add custom tags for every event we want to track? Also, will this connector get us the web data similar to how we see in GA? I’d appreciate your help!

I’ve been trying to get the Amplitude Chrome Extension to work, but haven’t been successful. I’ve tried reinstalling, restarting everything, changing the different privacy settings, etc… but can’t seem to get it working. I’m on a Mac with the latest OS (Monterey) and using the latest Chrome version.  Please help!
