Anonymous users included in "New Users"?

How do I exclude anonymous users who appear to simply be visiting the page without logging in - from being included in the “New Users” chart?

Hi @Elliot Koh

Looks like this is from the product overview widget from your home page.
This is the default definition that Amplitude picks for the new user metric in that widget. What you could try doing is customize this product overview in the product analytics setting and apply your segment of only identified users i.e. user ID is not null.

anonymous users are usually counted as new users in Amplitude until they get assigned a User ID. When someone first interacts with your app or site, Amplitude creates an anonymous ID for them. If they later sign up or log in and you assign them a User ID, Amplitude merges their past activity. This can sometimes cause fluctuations in new user counts, especially if the merge happens across different sessions. If you're seeing unexpected numbers, checking the user merge logs might help.
