You can send data from Google Analytics through our backfill process using the Batch API or GCS import. As a general rule, the user ID should be set for registered users. This reconciliation happens when a user logs in or signs up. If you don’t have a registration feature, what you can do is track the device ID so that Amplitude can track the unique customer profile on the device ID. Note that a unique device ID can be generated if they’re using different devices or if they go to an incognito browser (because it’s tracking a different cookie.) In summary, if your product doesn’t have a registration flow, you can create a device ID, and Amplitude can create different user profiles based on that device ID. If you opt to not set a user ID because you don’t have registration funnels in your product and if you are using one of our SDKs, then Amplitude will generate a device ID that will ultimately populate our Amplitude ID. Using the top navigation bar, click the feature ‘User Look-Up.’ This is where you can get a live stream of events tracked in the last 24h. Select a specific user, and you’ll see the user profile, user ID, amplitude ID, and all the device IDs that Amplitude has seen, including other information (i.e.: demographics, SDKs, when we first saw the user, live event stream, etc.) ​​If you see a User ID, it's because it has already been set. If the value is null, the User ID has not been set.There’s also a raw version that you can access for debugging purposes by toggling to ‘Raw.Best practices for setting user IDs are available in our Help Center under identify your users, along with instructions to look up event data for individual users.

Hi,Could you tell me about the conversion window and date range in the funnel chart?Does the date range apply to STEP1 or the entire funnel? For example, if I set up the following:Date range: January 1 - January 31Conversion window: 60 daysIs a user who generated STEP1 on January 1 and reached the final step on February 2 considered to have converted? Thank you.

Over the last couple of days I run a handful of test when creating a data source connection from Snowflake.Amongst them, a trial to have a “complex” query. In my case, this is a WITH query with a handful of CTEs, some of them with WHERE clauses, other with JOINs.Interestingly, the query passed the test, but now the ingestion seems to be going nowhere.Admittedly, we are talking about ~5M rows, that might play a role, but it has now been more than three hours since I defined the data source. Also worth mentioning, I see no Ingestion jobs listed at all.A few days ago I did a test connection over a dataset of about ~1M rows and it had completed it in no time, and by a couple minutes I could see multiple ingestion jobs running.Hence the doubt that maybe Amplitude doesn’t like this type of queries.Also, since this is meant to be a time-based sync, and I guess it’s fair to assume that the queries are being templated with something akin to Jinja post first ingestion to add the WHERE timestamp

We wish to track our own custom parameters.For example:In the case of a user entering the website for the first time through this url “test.com/home?utm_source=foo&ad_id=bar” Amplitude would capture utm_source, which is “foo”, as his initial_utm_source. But wouldn’t capture ad_id=bar at all. How can we setup Amplitude in a way that ad_id gets captured as well as initial_ad_id gets set.

Hi, we are making server side updates for users in Amplitude since there is an action that occurs outside of their session (subscription start).  Does this get reported as user events?  I see events showing up with platform as ‘none’ when looking at all active users based on active events.  

Hi!  I’ve been testing this integration and it worked for 1 hour and broke. No setting was changed. The integration was quite straightforward so I’m not sure what went wrong. The only problem might be that my customer.io account is using EU data center, but Amplitude keeps sending data to US endpoint. However Customer.io rep mentioned the data will be routed to EU endpoint automatically. 

Hey team. Only part of the users in an amplitude cohort is being imported to hubspot.Any idea why ?

I want to trigger few events just after setting the user properties but setUserProperties is not a promise and other events can’t wait until the user properties api call ends.

We have 2 amplitude accounts/orgs: 1 for events in production builds(from App store) and 1 to track and test events on test-builds.After updating from production builds(from App store) to test-builds we find that test-builds(from test flight) still report events to the production org on Amplitude even though the API key is being updated to that of the different org.Expected behaviour:Events on test-builds are reported to a different org in amplitude once the API key is changed in the update.Actual behaviour:Events from both builds(test and production) are reported to the same org with 2 different device IDs depending on version of the app in use.Note: the device ID is different for the events reported from the same device depending on the version of the app in use.Has anyone else encountered this before, and have you found a fox to this?

I’m struggling to get Source referral data from Google. I saw this question here:  But does that mean that Amplitude does not come with Google referral attribution out of the box? We’re also using the JS snippet with a mix of server side events.  

 Hi team,  I am trying to download the list of users that occurred in this entire 30d period. I’m only able to click “download users” one by one… how would I export the entire list of users from this time period all at once?

Hi!I don’t have blocked events, but I don’t know what happened during January: we lost a lot of data about some users in Amplitude (I can’t see a lot of events that happened during January for some users). The events were sent via Segment and in another platform for analytics (June) we can see those missing events, so I know Segment is not the problem, does anyone know how to fix this, to bring those events to Amplitude and to make sure something like this never happens again?

Previously when I tested using Browser SDK the Platform and Country values are appear automatically. But when I try to implement using NodeJS SDK (I’m using Node Ampli Wrapper) the values was not appear. This also happens with Amplitude Event Explorer (Chrome Extension), it doesn’t work when using NodeJS SDK while using Browser SDK is works.  

Hi!I need some help viewing events in the data tab. We’re sending over new events but we’re not able to see them for one of our projects. When I examine properties of this event in the properties section of the data tab, I do see the event mentioned but for whatever reason I’m not seeing it in the events section of the data tab or use it when creating a chart. We are also well under the limits for new event types and properties, and I do see these events in a different project that’s meant for other envs.Just want to see if there is something that can be done to see these events  

Hello!We’ve recently come across an issue with missing event data from a large group of our users.One of our users agreed to record a HAR file of their browser session for us to investigate and it shows that requests to Amplitude are being blocked by CORS policy. Here is a bunch of requests to Amplitude from the user’s browser session log, all - without a response from the server. The encountered error, according to the user’s Console log, is: Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://api.amplitude.com/' from origin 'https://lm.rt.ru' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.api.amplitude.com/:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FAILED The user is using desktop Chrome 93.0.4577.82 browser on Microsoft Windows 10.0 and a VPN tool to connect to our resource. We were not able to reproduce the same error with the missing Access-Control-Allow-Origin header under similar surroundings (OS, browser and VPN tool). Hello! I’ve implemented an integration with Amplutude via a js SDK. I’m able to see all my events, however some events are not showing up in Amplutude itself, despite showing in debugger and in Network tab of the browser.For example: Here are a screenshot of a debugger. All events have the same Session Id equal 1637612692926. I’m also able to see events being sent in a network tab of the browser.However, in Amplitude dashboard I can only see so many events: Looks live event recording broke after E_LOGIN_ATTEMPT.What can I do to fix it? Thanks in advance! 

If the title makes you scratch your head, fear not, I scratched mine so much it hurts. Also, I am as new as it gets to Amplitude, so I might be missing something really basic. All our marketing spend, coming from a dozen or so partners is stored in Snowflake, where it is also harmonised to our in-house tracking setup. Can I see each funnel chart as a percentage not number only on chart even when I don’t click?I know I can see them on table below chart, but I wanna see that on chart 

Hi, I posted some new events through HTTP API 2 days ago and made some charts for these events like this. It works fine, but when I look at the dashboard today, all the events I posted 2 days ago count become 0 in the charts and I also can’t find them in user stream. However, I can still see them in data (All the events started with ‘first’).Does anyone know about this issue? Since I made dashboards for these events, I can make sure that these events are posted successfully.

HelloWe’ve recently started to trial Amplitude in our latest iOS release. We have four projects setup as environments and on a daily basis we’re looking at our Development environment as we build out our features which has been working well. From today, I’ve been unable to review any events on our User Look-Up after refreshing, logging out and clearing all of my chrome cache and logging back in. I’ve also tried this on Safari. Hi, I wanted to clarify some behavior I’m seeing in our Amplitude events.I’m looking at a user’s event stream and see that for their events they have a user property, let’s just say it’s called name and it has a value of “Chris”.  Then I use the Amplitude SDK to log another event, something like thisamplitudeClient.logEvent('Changed name', {user_properties: { 'name': undefined }}); I notice that in this event, the user property will still show up as “Chris” instead of being nullified or removed. I was wondering why this is the case and how to remove user properties if they are undefined/null. Would I need to use the Identify API to explicitly remove the property?
