Please feel free to add them to this convo to help others going through this migration of GA Tags to the Amplitude Tag Template😁Here is my Aha:My “aha” was flexibility to create my own Custom Marketing Interaction events where an event is fired anytime a URL with UTMS was loaded. This would allow me to help metric marketing touch-points and understand how customers are coming to my site beyond standard traffic reporting.-Robbie 

I can't understand what the value of initial_referrer is none means?shouldn't it be empty?

Hi,I have integrated amplitude with my react app using the new browser SDK, but there are some users that are not tracked properly, example is image belowAnd no events were captured for this user. The other users work fine. There is only 2 users that are using my software and I can’t track them.Hope there is any solutionThank you

Dear Amplitude friends, I have an open-source project, and I want to track usage. Is it OK to include(hard-code) my project API key in this open-source project? Is such action going to violate the license of Amplitude? Are they any other legal concerns preventing me from doing that? Please consider the extreme case that when hackers acquire my open-source project, there might be excessive pings into Amplitude’s system using my project API key with ill intentions and without my supervision. Does Amplitude have concerns over that? Do you know if there are precautions or recommendations you can help suggest? Best regards,-Chance A

Our company has using Data/Analytics with our web app for several months. We have a custom user property 'organisationId', however last week we noticed it has been removed from our tracking plan without any action taken on our part. It does not appear in the list of user properties in the tracking plan, and is not being recorded in user events, despite the property still being posted by the client.​​​​​Example of organisationId being sent by the client (inspected with the Amplitude chrome extension on a production environment)  If I try to recreate the user property, I receive the message "Unable to save property. Unable to add property organisationId because it already exists. The activity log will also not load so I cannot check to see if there were any changes I'm unaware of. How can I restore the user property? Can we restore the property on all the events that have been logged in the interim?

Hello. Can you help me to understand how can I create onboarding time statistic per screen?I need to understand average time that users spend per each screen in my onboarding flow.For example: I have 5 screen on my onboarding. I need to know that average time on 1st screen will be 5min, 2nd screen 2 min, 3rd screen 15 min ...etcThanks

Hi community!I’ve tried to do this by myself, but I’m failing miserably. So, first of all, if I install a simple javascript tag for Amplitude in GTM, I’m able to generate and get my events with my API key and everything. So, I generally know how to do things.But here, I’m struggling with the Amplitude tag from the Amplitude Template available in the Google Tag Manager library: I’m setting up everything with my api key, my Amplitude tag is firing but nothing is getting sent to Amplitude.I’ve set up as a trigger my GA4 events, and I have set up the Amplitude tag type to “track”, and under there I’ve set up the Event Type value to {{Event}} so that I get the name of my GA4 event (I’ve checked in my data layer variable, the Event variable is set correctly). But my Amplitude is receiving NO data when I’m doing this :(What am I missing?

Hi, guys!This question is for amplitude integration. We made the following changes at same time：1.Change Amplitude SDK to Segment SDK2.Change Amplitude(Actions) to Amplitude cloud-mode Found the following problems;Inconsistent userip before and after. This is by no means a single event, Nearly half of the user ip changed.This leads to a change in the user’s country information. For example：(Changes started on November 5)ip:   before is “115.164.42.244” / after is ”10.85.199.68”country: before is “Malaysia” / after is “United Kingdom” I want to know the following answer：1.Is the country different due to ip?2.How to get ip(Amplitude SDK / Segment SDK)?3.Is this caused by the SDK?4.Do i have a way to solve this problem？

 Greetings, You can see a block of code to get the data from EXPORT API via Python, above. Response’s status code is “200”.I want to open the file in Python to use it via Pandas and make some manipulations. However, I cannot read it. I have used the code below but it created a file in my Desktop: z = zipfile.ZipFile(io.BytesIO(res.content))z.extractall() I simply used the pd.read_json() as in below:pd.read_json(z.open(f'{z.namelist()[-1]}')) But it returned an error below:UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0x8b in position 1: invalid start byte How can I solve this problem? 

If I update a user property value to null on segment identify, Amplitude doesn't change user property value and it shows previous value. It seems to be an issue on Amplitude’s API side. What can I do to clean/empty value??

Can anyone point me to dev documentation that outlines how to capture dynamically populated data for an event? I have a developer that wants to understand how to capture activity on a page that generates different examples depending on what type of file is chosen. 

I have a funnel of “Contacted” to “Replied” leads for past 30 days, which should show me conversion rate. Though I need exclude “contacted” events which were last 7 days and include those happened 37-30 days ago, but I want see all “replied” event during last 30 days. I apply Offset when choosing data period (last 30 days + Offset 7 days). But I don’t see the right numbers. Can anyone explain in details how “offset” changes my funnel? 

Is it possible to track the utm parameters from app deeplinks in Amplitude?We are rolling out share functionality (e.g. the deeplink might be “app.myapp.com/sleep_program?utm_source=app_share_button”) and we want to track usage of the new feature. So ideally something like a count of the number of people who come to the app via ‘app_share_button’. We’re using the React Native SDK fyi.

Running a React Native app with "@amplitude/analytics-react-native": "0.8.0", an error occurs after losing network connectivity:Amplitude Logger [Error]: TypeError: Network request failedWrapping the Amplitude methods with try/catch does not affect the triggering of this error, leaving me to assume it’s an issue with the SDK.  Is this a known issue or do you have any solutions that you can provide?

Let’s say we have a platform where we have an option to follow other users. If user B follows user A, I want an event to be triggered for user A and want to update the follower count as a user property on user B. Assuming that I don’t have to trigger additional events (updating events from backend is an obvious option, but takes up too many calls)Is that possible?

Hello everyone,I wanted to know that is there any way that if a user logs out and then perform any events, than those events should be not linked to the previous logged in user ID without changing the device ID.I know right now the only solution is to regenerate device ID while logging out, but I wanted to mantain that device ID to know how many unique peoples are using from that device ID.

Hey guys! We are currently using Amplitude for our Production, Staging and UAT environments. Our growth team are keen to get our marketing sites set up on Amplitude so we can track usage and journeys end to end. I wasn’t sure whether we would get that desired outcome if we were to set up the marketing site/s in a new project? Is there a way with them segmented by project to still do some analysis across project to understand our users journey from the marketing site, through our app? Or is there a way to add it to the same project without damaging the integrity of it? I hope that makes sense! Any guidance / thoughts would be incredibly helpful. Mark

Hello, I'm a data analyst.I am trying to implement Amplitude to a Hybrid (Webview) App. Our project made web page that use JS and it’s shown on a webview inside our app (android/IOS). I want to implement Amplitude to mobile Web and Hybrid App. But I couldn’t find how to implement amplitude to hybrid environments in The official development guide.I just have understood that browser SDK should be applied to the web page to collect events and user properties, and send them to the App through javascript interface. However, since there are few resource for hybrid app, it would be good to have some materials for hybrid app. Could I get any useful resources for development?

Hi,We’re sending our data to Amplitude using RudderStack (a service similar to Segment, which sends data server-side to Amplitude using the API).Rudderstack automatically sends utm_XXXX parameters with each event to Amplitude, but the problem we’re encountering, is that users’ initial_utm_XXXX properties are not being set.For example, in the screenshot below, you can see utm_XXXX properties in Amplitude, but there’s no initial_utm_XXX property. If we turn off our server-side source, and instead use the Amplitude Javascript SDK (client-side source), you can see that the initial_utm_XXX properties are set correctly (screenshot below): Do you know how we can get Amplitude to set initial_utm_XXXX, even if we’re using sending data server-side?Thank you!
