Data Instrumentation

The Engineering team at our company recently added two new Properties to an existing Event.I noticed these properties show up in Amplitude as 'Unexpected'. Do I hit 'Add' so these new properties are available to use in amplitude reports or is there something else I need to do here? Also, is this a required step every time a new event or event property is added in the code?  

Hi everyone!The last two weeks we have an unexpected traffic coming from ‘France’ (Wed. Jan 4, Thu. Jan 5, Wed. Jan 11, Thu. Jan 12) . All those users lands on a page and exits.It seems to be a bot, but the weird thing is that those events are only visible in the project using (Actions).Is someone having the same issue? Why Amplitude Actions is tracking those events, and not the other?Thanks a lot in advance.Cheers, Mauri 

If i build for android in empty project only admob or only amplitude sdk, then everything is fine. But if these plugins together in one project, i'm getting this error:FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.What went wrong: Execution failed for task ':launcher:dexBuilderRelease'.java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: This feature requires ASM7 

The goal is to use this cohort to sync with a email tool that will allow me to send 30 new users an email every week if they match the parameters that reflect high usage.When I created two cohorts each targeting a week to week user base, it showed that almost all of the same users are in both cohorts, meaning there is no (or minimal at best) weekly change.How can I set a cohort up so that I can target 30 new power users every week? Is there any way to upload legacy users' data into Amplitude?

I have initiated CleverTap event migration but it is not transferring all the events. I had set the trigger as recurring at every 4 hours. 

When I look at the “Funnel” analysis, I do see 200 events registered for the checkout cart. The CTR is calculated based on this number.When I look at the “Event Segmentation” analysis, there is an event called “checkout cart” showing 706 events. Are they the same? If so, Why that discrepancy? What does it mean?Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hey Amplitude Community, We are currently using the TS SDK, we notice every time we start a new session, it auto triggers $identify call that set/unset a bunch of UTM parameters. We are using cross tracking in our landing site (JS SDK) and product site (TS SDK), and seems like any UTM params that are set in our landing site got overwritten by this auto triggered $identify call when user goes to our product site. Looking for help to see if we missed any configuration in TS SDK or anything we can do to avoid this auto $identify call? Thank you in advance!  

Hello Amplitude community, I am looking for your advices for how to track number of sessions without having users’ consent to collect their data?. We do not need any context or relation of the sessions with any other data. We only need to know the absolute number of sessions of users reaching the website and the app.  is it possible to track number of sessions without having users’ consent to collect their data? and how? does Amplitude only track sessions if a user_id is generated/provided? would HTTP API implementation support us to track the absolute number of sessions?​​​​​​​looking forward for your suggestions, thanks in advance 

Hi, we are passing a server side update to amplitude with user properties for when a user purchases a subscription.  When we pass the value in EST in the ISO 8601 format, when doing a user lookup the value is shown in GMT instead of EST (which our account is set to).  Is there a way we should be passing timezone?

We are in the middle of integrating clevertap into our amplitude account under a different project.The question is: Does the amplitude monthly event count cap also account for the events which flow in from CTso this will impact our monthly event count as well, right? Also, is there somewhere where I can actively track my usage of events?

Hello, I am trying to pull data via API using Python with the code below. The API_KEY and SECRET_KEY were copied from https://analytics.amplitude.com/adform/settings/projects/*****/general for the appropriate project_id.However, the above code gives me an error 403 Forbidden.<html><head><title>403 Forbidden</title></head><body><center><h1>403 Forbidden</h1></center><hr><center>nginx</center></body></html>I also tried different url combinations such as below as well as url for User Profile API, Dashboard Rest API, etc. They all return either 401 or 403 when I do print(response.status_code)https://analytics.eu.amplitude.com/api/2/export... https://analytics.eu.amplitude.com/adform/api/2/export... https://amplitude.com/api/2/export...I have tried resolving this issue with postman without any luck.Please help me with this issue.

We have an internal CRM system that tracks where users fill up a form. If the users directly land on the forms via Ads, it’s easy to get the utms and attribute the conversion to the respective Ad.But majority of users arrive on the site via an Ad or whichever source and later go away and might come back organically or via other means. Individually, we can go to a user’s event history and see where they came from but with hundreds of leads that’s not possible.Could we programmatically (any APIs?) fetch a user’s event history or their first “Attribution Captured” event?

Hi there, I noticed that our Amplitude events were showing a large number of events, particularly in December, from an apparent search bot. Reverse-lookup of the IP pointed to PetalBot from petalsearch.com at IP range 114.119.*** Has anyone else seen this or figured out how to fix? I’m wondering if this is something that should be filtered out at the Amplitude library level or has been fixed in a future version already. Thanks! 

Is there a way to create an ecommerce report where the ROW is a product name (such as large blue shoe) and the Metric is an event (such as view_item)?

We pipe our event data straight into amplitude (i know, not best practice). We had a bug that occurred which is duplicating user data (counting users multiple times as multiple amplitude IDs have been assigned to the same user). I am curious if there is anyway we can retroactively fix this within Amplitude?

Hi team,  Right now, we are only able to see the user journey after an event occurs. We’d like to see this exact view, but instead of the events afterwards, we’d like to see the events leading UP TO this event. Basically, the inverse of the view below:  My question would be: what lead a user up to the point of receiving an on_error callback?

having an issue when sending events succeed, some events not show in the user-look-up. (not all of events)I’m sending events on server side with python SDK as after effect by user action. in my guess, it happened two different test user had action to make the events at the same time, or in very short time. thank you for your help

Below screenshot 1 is from a single session, however it has two user IDs before and after user registration on the app (“New user registered”). If I focus on user ID = 4837, its log starts only after registration and cannot tell what s/he did before that.How can we prevent this happening? TIA. *I’ve used the same device for other user IDs. 1) single session across 2 user IDs 2) user ID 4837 log starts after registration

Many of our charts and graphs are looked at by version numbers and we want to create some standard charts that track the top X number of versions, where the X number may vary based on the chart, but so far I dont see a way to control how many “Top Events” a chart shows.Sometimes Amplitude automatically display the top 3 or 12 or some random number and the charts will show whichever versions are in the top # for that chart. However we can’t seem to find a way to control what that number of “Top Events” is.Does someone know how to control this? I’ve tried just selecting the top 5 versions, but then Amplitude typically saves the chart as specifically those 5 and not generically the top 5

Our product has two events, one to represent the start of an online experience - “connect” - and one to represent the first step in continuing down that experience “continue”. I am trying to visualize the daily number of users that connect, let’s say 100 today, and the percentage of those that continue, let’s say it ranges from 20-40 depending on some factors.  How do I do that with our current view? It continues to appear as a single line.   

I ve been working with amplitude API to export data to further analyze it in python (something like this):from amplitude import AmplitudeExportamplitude_client = AmplitudeExport(API_KEY,SECRET_KEY)records = amplitude_client.export(init_date, end_date)The thing is that I realized that there is a huge gap between server_upload_time and event_time. Not hours or day but months of difference! and this is not for a couple of points there are many of them in this situation. Why is this happening and how should I deal with this? 

We’re building a B2B SaaS product. Our product is similar to Notion where a user can be part of multiple workspaces and has different permission levels in each of those workspaces. QuestionWhen a user performs an event in our product, we want to be able to track the workspace and the permission level of the user for that specific workspace. How should we set up our user / event properties to track this properly?FYI Accounts add-on is currently not a viable option for us due to our budget.
