Is there a way to see average count of 1 specific event for users within the first 3 days since they signed-in the app?

Hi guys! Anyone knows if there is a way to see average count of 1 specific event (how many times users did this event on average) for new users within the first 3 days since they signed-in into the app?Thank you!

MTU vs DAU

Hi - newby question here. So far our DAU count hasn't gone above 20 on any day in February. But our MTU has gone over 100k. What could be causing this? Thank you.Pete

Import S3 not working

Hello,I encountered an issue in adding additional data source from S3.the error I get:   for context I have another source from the same bucket that is currently working. When I looked into the source of the problem I took a look at amplitude’s docs:amplitude docs - S3 import guideIn the policy that is there it seems that the S3 integration need the following: s3:ListObjects but s3:ListObjects is deprecated, the error from the policy editor in AWS: I would like to know if this is the cause of the problem? could it be on amplitude’s end?the currently running source is working fine. Thanks for any help in advance!

BigQuery export missing permission

Hello,I am trying to export data from Amplitude to BigQuery and I have set up all permissions accordingly following the documentation: https://www.docs.developers.amplitude.com/data/destinations/bigquery/The problem is I keep getting an error about permissions which are not contained in the documentation mentioned, please see an example-error below: ```Access Denied: Project hermes-344213: User does not have bigquery.jobs.create permission in project hermes-344213.``` The following permissions were asked already I have given them all bigquery.datasets.delete bigquery.datasets.update bigquery.jobs.create bigquery.transfers.get bigquery.transfers.updateCould someone help me out with this one?Thanks

Ampli npm package dependent on a Sentry version from 2 years ago

The Ampli SDK npm package uses Sentry to report errors to the Amplitude team. It’s set up to use v6 of Sentry’s packages. Those are 2 years old at this point and it creates dependency conflicts for Amplitude customers who also use Sentry. Would it be possible to have the team update ampli to depend on Sentry’s v7 packages (especially types)?

Is there a recommendation of what Identity Store (cookie vs local storage) to use?

In the Browser 2.0 SDK it says this:identityStorage string. Sets storage API for user identity. Options include cookie for document.cookie, localStorage for localStorage, or none to opt-out of persisting user identity.  By default this is “cookie” but is there an advantage to use localStorage?  When should we use this option? I realize there must be legacy browser issues, but that would have to be super old browsers that don’t support localStorage so trying to figure out the gotchas here. The docs do not give any guidance on this.

Double counting pageviews when running VWO Redirect AB Test

I am running into an issue where when I run a 50/50 split redirect test using VWO Amplitude is firing two pageview tags - one for the control and the other for the variant essentially double-counting pageviews. How can I best setup our VWO integration to avoid this behavior? Or, is there a way to filter out the double counting on the backend.

Version Conflict for 'Amplitude' in amplitude_flutter on CodeMagic Builds

Expected BehaviorThe amplitude_flutter plugin should resolve its dependencies correctly when running pod install as part of a Flutter project build process, especially when using publicly available versions of its dependencies like Amplitude. The build should complete successfully without version conflicts in the dependency resolution process.Current BehaviorWhen attempting to run pod install in the CI/CD environment provided by CodeMagic, a version conflict arises for the Amplitude pod. Specifically, the amplitude_flutter plugin requires Amplitude version 8.18.0, which does not appear to be publicly available on pub.dev. This requirement leads to a failure in the dependency resolution process, as indicated by the error message suggesting a conflict between the version specified in Podfile.lock (8.16.1) and the one required by amplitude_flutter (8.18.0). 400 bad request error with event segmentation

 This event with event property and value is valid as seen from the chart above. But my API call keeps returning a 400 bad request error:https://amplitude.com/api/2/events/segmentation?e={"event_type":"A_DomainEnter"}&start=20240214&end=20240216&s=[{"prop":"gp:StoreCode","op":"is","values":["COOP"]}]I’ve tried with both Postman and Javascript, and the response is good if I just remove the “s” parameter, so it’s definitely not an issue with authorization or anything.I’ve also tried it like this, 400 bad request as well:https://amplitude.com/api/2/events/segmentation?e={"event_type":"A_DomainEnter","filters": [{"subprop_type": "event", "subprop_key": "gp:StoreCode", "subprop_op": "is", "subprop_value": ["COOP"]}]}&start=20240214&end=20240216Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Feature request: Add ability to filter active/inactive events from all chart types

Some amplitude charts (e..g Engagement Matrix) have automatic groupings of events like Top Global Events Top Events for Segment Bottom Global Events The problem with this is there is no way to filter out “inactive” events.  We have many of these that that are commonly fired, but then make it into these reports diluting the value of the report. Sure, I can unselect it from the table which will hide it from the chart, but it still consumes one of the top/bottom 50 slots.What needs to be supported is choices for Active vs Inactive. Even better, it should just add event filters, so we can make a list of events to filter out by wildcard.

Any Payload size limit in a variant ?

Questions is:Are there a limit for how large (line, characters, mb) a JSON Payload can be as a part of Feature flag.For a client im implementing Experiment/Feature Flags for IOS and Android. One of the Feature flag planned are to be used as a “All Users 100%” with a payload with info about shops etc. Example of this is an object of all shops, and info for each shop.Intention is to make only one “App Data” feature flag that will grow overtime.For now it’s only 74 lines, and est 1200 characters. But it’s intended to grow over time.

How to install Amplitude in Remix Js app ? SSR

Hello,I'm currently trying to install Amplitude in my Remix.js app and am not able to do so. I don't know whether to use the Node SDK and/or the Browser SDK.The Node SDK is working, but since it's SSR (Server-Side Rendering), I can't track events in onClick() functions, for example. When I try to use the Browser SDK to track these kinds of events, I'm not able to do so because Remix is an SSR framework.Have you run into the same issue?

Multiple user id for same user

Hey! I realised every time my user update their app, a new user ID is created when then this user opens my app in this new version. That gives me one device ID, but multiple users ID…. This is really affecting my retention chart. Would love some help. Thanks!

Should the same user on two different devices count as 2 MTUs?

In Users & Sessions > User Look-up > Search Users, if I use advanced search to find a user by email, I find 2 or more (up to 16) Amplitude IDs mapped to the same email. It’s one person, and I assume this is due to use on separate devices (although 16 does seem odd, it’s just one person). I assume Amplitude is counting Amplitude IDs not unique emails, for MTUs. The result is almost 40% over-counting -- this is on a portal where everyone is logged in, so everyone has an email address.Does this sound right? Is this a flaw in our implementation of Amplitude? Is there a way to still use Amplitude IDs but de-dupe tracked users so there is only one Amplitude ID per email? Or is that something I shouldn’t want for some reason?

iOS session duration is incorrectly high since iOS SDK 8.17.2 (or some other version newer than 8.10.0)

Hi All Since about autumn 2023 session length of some sessions started growing much to amounts clearly not in how our app is likely to be used (we are a job search app, not a game to have long sessions). We traced it down to the following:1. It is exactly iOS specific2. It seems to be happening exactly for the versions that have upgraded Amplitude SDK from 8.10.0 to 8.17.2 (i.e. for older versions of our app using older Amplitude SDKs we do not see such issues, at least not en masse)3. We digged and found many example of sessions that seem to be tracked not per Amplitude session tracking rules (that is session should end 5 min after no events happen). ExampleFor example in this session 1707114933154 you can see almost 1 hour long interval between events (a bit less than one hour, so it’s not likely to be some time zone error). We have similar examples for over 3 hours difference and so forth. What to do?As a quick fix, we are trying to roll back to Amplitude SDK 8.10.0, but what should
