Grouping events by hours

Generally I am satisfied by time ranges provided by Amplitude for data analysis, except being unable to do hourly analysis over longer periods than 7 days. 

Ideally, I would like to see histograms-per-day averaged out into a single histogram with averages per hourly interval. 

Currently Amplitude does not support that but it will be extremely helpful to see averages per hour for a longer time frame to catch trends.

I know that what we can do now is just export the events and do that hourly analysis in SQL, but it would be a life-saver to have it natively on the platform.

@trevin-bc Our hourly histogram has a max look back of 7 days but have you tried using the Amplitude out-of-the-box “Event Hour of Day” event property? You can select your event(s) and do a group by on this event property to show what hour of each day (timezone configured in project settings) these event(s) occur most often. Check out this post in our community.
