How do I track button clicks across multiple pages?

I’m fairly new to Amplitude and feeling a bit lost.

Our website has a Sign Up button in our global navigation bar.

I wish to track how many times the button is clicked on each page of our website to calculate the conversion rate for each page.

Would anyone be able to help me out with this? Thanks in advance!

Hey @Clara

Welcome to the Amplitude Community!

The most common approach here would be to have this signup event setup as “Clicked Sign Up” and capture that specific page path/url/id as an event property.

You can read more on capturing page view events here and more on the conversion rate tracking in this post.

Hope this helps you get started.

Hi @Clara ,

I agree with @Saish Redkar here! The easiest thing to do is to track and trigger an event every time the button is pressed. Then, in Amplitude, you can go to an Event Segmentation chart and look at the event totals for that event to see how many people clicked it over a given time period.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,
Denis
