The most common approach here would be to have this signup event setup as “Clicked Sign Up” and capture that specific page path/url/id as an event property.

I agree with @Saish Redkar here! The easiest thing to do is to track and trigger an event every time the button is pressed. Then, in Amplitude, you can go to an Event Segmentation chart and look at the event totals for that event to see how many people clicked it over a given time period.
