Retroactively adding property groups?

Let’s say I have a bunch of old events with the properties

  • albumName

  • artistName

  • genre

  • recordLabel

  • releaseDate

  • songDuration

  • songTitle

I’ve added these to a few Events already, but then I discover property groups and create a new Song property group.

I can add these to new events that don’t have the Song property group, but how can I convert my legacy event properties to the property group? Should I just delete the properties and re-add the property group?

Yes, if you want to convert your legacy event properties to the newly created property group, you can delete the individual properties and then re-add the property group to those events. This will ensure that the events now have the same properties as the property group and any updates to the property group will be applied to these events as well.

If I have a property that’s in use by like 200 events - do I really need to:

  1. delete the property entirely (thus removing it from all events)
  1. Re-add the property group to each event individually?
