User composition based on cohorts

Hi all,

I am trying to create a composition of users based on cohorts. So rather than showing a graph based on the amount of events triggered over time by that cohort, I want to see a line that represents the amount of users who are part of that cohort at that specific time. Is there a way to do this without making it event based? Thanks!

Hello!

Amplitude charts are all events based, so there might not be a perfect out-of-the-box solution for this request.

There is a chart called “Population Over Time” which appears below a custom cohort that you make. The chart is limited to the past 30 days and only works for dynamic cohorts. When you hover over a data point, it’ll give you the population of users who fall in the cohort filters. You can read more details in our Help Center here

Here’s an example I made with AmpliTunes demo data: https://analytics.amplitude.com/demo/cohort/7038ttw

Let me know if you have questions! Thanks.

Best,
Loc
