Setting up parent directory visits on one chart

Hello all,What I’d like to achieve isSet up a chart where I can see Page Views but grouped by parent directory i.e. how many visits does /blog/ , /resources/ etc. have but I’d like to have it on one chart

Journeys - what if user opens a new tab?

What if a user opens a new tab - is it on a journey funnel? For example, I have events:“Create X” - user clicks on “+” to create X “Submit create X” - user clicks on submit button to create X “X Creation Success” - user created X with success  “X Creation Failure” - user didn’t create X although he wanted (clicked Submit X before)  “X Open” - user opened  So I have journeys: A:Create X → Submit Create X→ X Creation Success → X Open  B: Create X → Submit Create X→ X Creation Success → Drop Off C: Create X → Submit Create X → X Creation Failure  If the user decides to open X in a new tab - will it be included on the journey (journey A) or not (journey B)?

User_id - User properties

When I use the User_ID property in a Chart (data table) I get less than if I view the user_id by Audience. (I am using the same filters) Why can this be?

Not show sessions in User Sessions

I have a collection of events associated with session_id.However, when selecting the UserSessions tab, no sessions are displayed. I have attempted to view both events performed within sessions and standalone sessions.

Event not counted in conversion funnel

we can see that for my test case, there were 3 upload attempts before a successful conversion (frequency view). When i look at the funnel conversion though, only 2 out of 3 uploads are counted. Why is that? Is the number of subsequent events limited by its predecessor?

Cart Analysis Limitation

Hi Colleagues,I am trying to make divided each items from aggregated cart array.So I am using Cart Analysis.BTW, There would be a limitation of length of 1 cart item.Actually there are some properties cart item can have, if it exists, where can I find a reference for it?Or do you know workaround or some points those I am missing?Best regards.

Where can I see events collected from BigQuery?

Hi!Our team created a BigQuery source and set it as an Event data (filled in mandatory props like device_id, user_id, event_type etc.), but I’m not sure where to find where to actually see the event log! So far, we’ve set SQL query (and it works), set Type of Data as ‘Event’, and set Type of Import as ‘Time Based’. However, there are zero events that are ingested (0 delivered total) although I do see a log of JSON GZ files being successfully sent. After setting up the source as explained above, is there additional step we need to do in order to actually start cumulating the event log?  Once that’s set up, where would I be able to view the log on Amplitude?   If I can see it as a regular Event, is the event_type we set in the query structure going to be the name of the event?  Thank you for your help in advance!

Error in Data: Sorry about that! Something went wrong.

My teammates and I are having difficulties viewing the “Data” tab in amplitude. Multiple device ids on amplitude. One device on our server. Mobile application.

I am looking into users that are having multiple device ids on amplitude (in some cases over 70 different device ids). These users all have only 1 device according to our server and database.I read that this can be caused by users exploring in incognito mode. But we have a mobile app, and I don’t think it is possible to open a mobile application in incognito mode.This happens on both iOS and Android operating systems. Are there usage patterns that are known to cause this unusual behaviour?

Amplitude Event Explorer Chrome Plugin v1.0.1

Hello,we’re using a Domain Proxy setup (as described here).The “Amplitude Event Explorer” Chrome plugin (v0.3.6 at the time of implementation) wasn’t working, but I could fix it easily by adding our domains to a list in `background.bundle.js`.With the new version of the plugin, I couldn’t easily fix it.Is there “official” support for a Domain Proxy setup built-in the plugin? Is the source code available? (Couldn’t find any obvious repo in you github repo list) Any else hints for an easy workaround?RegardsChristian

Can the Amplitude Rest API exclude users who completed event between other events?

I am interested in calling the Amplitude Rest API to export data from a Funnel analysis set up in the following way: Events [in this order] [EVENT 1] [EVENT 2] Exclude uses who did [EVENT 3] between all steps I have figured out how to call the API to get conversion from [EVENT 1] to [EVENT 2] but am unsure how to “Exclude uses who did [EVENT 3] between all steps.” Is this possible to do this (Exclude events) calling the API? What request should “GET” be called on to export this data? Any insights would be greatly appreciated –– thank you so much!

GCS import is not working

Initially we tried to setup Bigquery source for import but we are blocked by an issue for which my colleague Aman has asked a question here:  As an alternative method, I am trying to use GCS as the source. I have completed all the steps mentioned here: https://www.docs.developers.amplitude.com/data/sources/google-cloud-storage/In the Edit Import Config section, I am seeing correct sample data in Select File step   and also after Configure Converter When I click on “Save & Enable Source”, I also get a feedback saying that “Successfully update converter” and “Source enabled” But after this, when I go to Events, I am not able to see any events from this source.When I go to General tab of the GCS source, status shows up as Disconnected  and the Ingestion Jobs tab shows this:  Not sure what the issue is here because in the sample data shown while editing the converter config, everything seems to work fine

Tracking users in a mobile app (especially on iOS)

Hello, my client (a mobile app) has created an onboarding process in which the user goes through several screens, logs in, and then gives marketing consent and ATT (for iOS). I'm wondering, especially for iOS, if in this case we'll be able to collect data about his activities before agreeing to be tracked (ATT). As far as I know, no consent for ATT equals no transmission of the device ID to the vendor, and before logging in, the app doesn't have information about the email address, and no permanent user identifier is assigned as well.I think this is an important question, given that the market has been leaning towards privacy for quite some time now, and this will continue. And measuring onboarding is crucial in any product. How are you approaching this?Cheers,Pawel

Missing events: Error failed to fetch

We have implemented browser sdk 2.0 to track events from our website. However, we have noticed that for some website users, none of the events and even user data is getting captured in amplitude. Same code is working for other users. Due to same it’s not recording 100% events data. On checking the console we could see below error. Looking for guidance to resolve the issue.

User Property None

hello, I read a previous post which stated that none appears because we set up a certain user/event property later on, and therefore before that time-frame the area would show none. However, the last changes we made to amplitude were at least 3 months. Why is there a none column in my 30day data? Moreover, does anyone have any idea why Amplitude doesn’t group areas in their appropriate cities? I have areas that in City A showing up in City B, and sometimes even City B showing up in City A :( (I’m referring to segmentation by city)

Breakage by Feature

We give our app users 100 points for signing up, 20 points every day just for checking in, 30 points for taking a survey, and 400 points for playing a game. When users get to 500 points, they can cash out for prizes. . Question: How can I find out the average breakage by feature? For example, if the retention rate on D1 is 50% and users who churn never reach 500 points, then most welcome points are “broken” and are never used to cash out for prizes, so the breakage on welcome points is very high, maybe 90%. Meanwhile, most users who play games are earning enough for prizes, so the breakage on games is very low, maybe only 10%. Any user that is dormant for 90 days we can consider lost and all their points broken.  We have all the data in Amplitude (# points earned by user for what activity, # points broken), but since all points all go into the same points balance, I wonder if there’s a way to chart and estimate of breakage by feature type in Amplitude. Thanks for your tips!

Hi I have some events got triggered multiple times from our FE apps such as payment events. Here are two events (Payed Contract) for the same product. How to prevent querying the same duplicate events? AKA, I just need to query one event not two.

New Amplitude UI in Experiment

Hi Amplitude team! We’ve seen that you have made a UI and feature updates in almost every section of Amplitude product. This change creates a blocker for our process actually. We found that in the segmentation feature there is an option to revert back to the legacy Controls.Is this option available for the Experiment feature too? There are a couple of features that is no longer available and it’s quite painful for us. Would like to list it all down because I don’t have the pre existing UI screenshot.Copy-pasting a value without “ “. We saw that in the new feature when we want to copy a value, let’s say ID 23476 it will paste with “23476” which will not be detected as a user id. And thus creating the need to erase it one by one. The Open in Analytics feature which offers user to able to open a metric in Experiment to the Segmentation Chart. This helps us to further dive deep in the charts, so having the feature not available makes us have to copying and pasting each metrics and creating

Show Unique Event Count for Custom Aggregate Event that has multiple property options

My product is an application that insurance producers use to grow their business.I have an event called ‘Search Initiated’ that logs every time a user searches for more business. The Search tool has various options under it, and some are categorized as ‘Cross Sell Search’. These are 8 event properties that indicate the user is looking at businesses that we already sell too - IE, they’re trying to sell them a new product they don’t already have.When looking at Amplitude events, I have a custom event called ‘Cross Sell Search Initiated’. It logs something every time a user selects at least 1 of the 8 cross sell search features. When building analyses, Amplitude seems to think that each time a cross sell feature is selected, that is a unique event. However I can prove in back end data that sometimes users elect 2 or more of these options in a single search.Is there a way to show unique event counts for a custom, aggregate event?See chart attached. Duplicated data

HelloWe currently have 3 partners, AD agency, Airbridge(MMP), and Amplitude. Meanwhile, we asked AD agency to target optimized users and show our AD then analyzed the attribution (finding campaign which attributes to main In-app event such as purchase). On the other hand, we were trying to track users behavior more specifically through Amplitude, based on React-Native SDK.  So there were two different data source, Airbridge and Amplitude and the problem is, the data is duplicated. For example, If purchasing activity is occured, Amplitude perceives that there are two purchasing event. Because of this duplication problem, we’ve seen bubbled data.  I think it happens because of ID-matching problem. In Amplitude event(from React-Native data source), there is no User ID. There’s only Amplitude ID so the data cannot be matched with Airbridge data. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thank you !

Re-running experiments

Hi, so let’s say we’ve run an experiment that has failed, or has produced results we otherwise want to discard. Is there a way to “restart” the experiment so that we can use the same key, but provide different keys and get clean experiment results? By “clean” I mean old data will not interfere with new findings. I feel like with the current structure, there’s no way to do this, which means we need to cycle through a bunch of different keys every time we want a fresh start, even though most of the experiment is the same.  Any insight here would be appreciated.
