New Analytics releases

Simplified tools for faster insights

Get clearer insights into what drives customer behavior. Amplitude Analytics gives you self-serve access to helpful information across the customer journey.

Dive into analysis with new Amplitude homepage

Re-imagined as a quick start hub for all things Analytics, the new homepage helps you unlock insights even faster with easy access to:

  • Automated reports from instrumented data
  • Out of the box insights and templates
  • Helpful resources like education docs and community updates

The new homepage is currently rolled out to a limited number of users and can be accessed by clicking the Amplitude logo in the upper left corner of your screen.

Toggle between tools with single navigation experience

We've simplified our navigation experience so you can easily switch between Amplitude’s Analytics, Data, and Experiments tools. The new design also allows you to manage reports, audiences, experiments, and feature flags all from one single user interface.

Access this feature from the top navigation section of Amplitude.

Set up Event Explorer with ease

Goodbye friction! Though Event Explorer still allows users to track which events and properties are triggered by a product, the setup process for using it is now easier than ever.

The revamped experience prioritizes simplicity and clarity so you can leverage the power of event and Chart properties as quickly as possible.

Access Event Explorer in the top right corner of the Chart controls.

Get out-of-the-box insights with Industry Starter Templates

This month, we’re excited to expand our template library with industry-specific dashboards, starting with the new e-commerce template.

These Starter Templates will offer out-of-the box insights on everything from feature adoption to user activity -– without having to create analysis from scratch.

Access the e-commerce template in the template gallery and keep your eyes peeled for upcoming industry releases, including fintech, gaming, SaaS, healthcare, and more.

Chart controls are now generally available

Our new vertical Chart controls are officially in GA!

With a guided, top-down structure, users can now see how changes impact their charts in real-time. This immediate feedback encourages experimentation so you can confidently iterate on your charts without worrying about mistakes or taking a wrong turn.

Charts now in vertical controls include:

  • Sessions
  • User Comp
  • Event Segmentation
  • Funnels
  • Data Tables
  • Pathfinder
  • Retention
  • Engagement Matrix
  • Experiment Results

Access the new controls by creating any of the above Charts in Amplitude Analytics. (Prefer the old Chart controls? You can always choose to opt back into your existing controls experience.)

Deconstruct the customer journey with new Journey Analysis rBeta]

Our new Journey Analysis combines your favorite journey charts into one seamless experience to help you uncover insights, identify trends, and understand each stage of the customer journey.

This consolidated version of Pathfinder, Journeys, and Pathfinder Users helps you see where customers go after signup, what activities lead to conversion, and friction points along the way.

Bonus points? Users can now also create static cohorts from the microscope using any data point from the 3 Journeys type (Pathfinder, Journey Map, and Top User Paths).

Access this feature from our chart selection.

Two new metrics added to Analytics

To help you get the most out of Analytics, we’ve added two new defined metrics to your charts.

  • Property Average graphs the average of property values at each data point.

  • Conversion metric now supports total conversion in addition to unique conversion rate. Users can also apply a propsum on the last step in the funnel.

Access new metrics in the event dropdown menu in your event segmentation chart or data tables.

Custom Currency Symbols are now generally available

Customers can now select a locale for formatting currency amounts in charts. This choice informs both the currency symbol and locale-specific formatting at the project level. For example, if you select Italy as a locale, 123,456,789.01 will be displayed as “123.456.789,01 €” in your project.

Note: This update does not handle currency conversions.

Access this feature at the project level in Organization Settings.

Enjoy more flexibility with Datepicker

Our new and improved datepicker offers more flexibility when building charts and cohorts. The new updates allow you to:

  • Pick ‘start’ and ‘end’ dates for between
  • See two months at a time
  • Use visual cues to differentiate between the current date and the date you’ve selected

Access this feature from any Chart, In-line Cohort, or the Cohort Builder.

New Data releases

Integrations, improvements for richer data

Get trusted data to power insight about your product. Amplitude Data helps you proactively manage and govern your data.

New batch of event streaming integrations :Beta]

We’re excited to announce four new destinations for event streaming. Each integration enables you to forward Amplitude events and event properties to your tool of choice.

The four new destination include:

Access event streaming by navigating to Data Destinations within the Catalog section. Users will be able to configure this on a per-destination level for each event streaming destination.

These partner integrations are not available in the EU Data Center at this time.

Bento Cohort sync is now in open beta

Bento users can now sync cohorts straight from Amplitude with just a few clicks. This integration is not available in the EU Data Center at this time.

Learn how to send Amplitude Cohorts to Bento.

Get actionable recommendations from Data Assistant lBeta]

Data Assistant recommends specific actions a customer should take to improve their data catalog, starting with particular events they should focus on for improving metadata.

Other recommendations include:

  • Event/Property Descriptions - Prompts users to provide event/property descriptions for their most valuable events
  • Event Display Names - Prompts users to fix event naming problems in their data catalog
  • Event Tags - Recommends tags to add to events based on similar events
  • Event ownership - Prompts users to set an owner for valuable events

All prompts come with suggestions to make updates fast and easy.

Access Data Assistant by navigating from Data to the Homepage.

Enrich events with Description Editing

Users can now add descriptions to events directly from charts! The new editing functionality supports full markdown, as well as user and inline images, making it easier than ever to build out and simplify taxonomy management.

The best part? We’ve reduced friction by offering AI-powered suggestions that give you a practical starting point for your descriptions.

Access this feature in the Chart event selectors and Data tracking plan.

Browser SDK 2.0 is now generally available

Browser SDK lets you send events to Amplitude. With version 2.0, we’ve consolidated product and marketing analytics use cases, enabled DET tracking, and simplified configuration and plugin interfaces – all in a ~25% lighter weight bundle!

Access Browser SDK 2.0 via script loader and npm.

New Experiment releases

Feature improvements to scale experimentation

Drive faster action from crystal clear test results. Amplitude Experiment helps you test, analyze, and optimize your product at scale.

Standardize Experiments with Templates 4Beta]

When it comes to experimentation, consistency is key. Luckily, with our new Experiment Templates, we’re helping teams build standard frameworks for decision making – without having to build every test from scratch.

The new Experiment Templates standardize everything from targeting, to evaluation, experiment type, bucketing unit, and more. These templates help ensure that even the least experienced team member can set up and run experiments at scale.

Access this feature when you create a new Experiment in Amplitude.

Predict testing timelines with the Duration Calculator

Our new Duration Calculator helps users quickly assess how long a test will take to reach statistical significance based on the metric, traffic, and MDE of the experiment.

This feature should help users decide which tests are worth running, as well as build more accurate roadmaps for their organization.

Access this feature within the Plan tab.

Easily ship releases with new feature flag experience
Developers now have a seamless UX for feature flag configuration. This purpose-built user experience makes it easier for developers to ship releases quickly and safely.

Changes to the flag configuration page include:

  • Condensed and simplified settings
  • Variants are now located in a drawer
  • The Monitor tab has been removed (Assignment and exposure event charts will now be on the main page if your flag is active or events exist with the flag’s user property.)

Access this feature when you edit a feature flag or create a new Feature Flag in Amplitude.

And that’s a wrap! Here’s what’s next…

How can I opt out of the AI-assisted Data Assistant?

My company does not wish to have anything to do with usages of generative large language models, even in areas like event and property naming and description naming.

@frank.serafine totally understood, I’ll follow up via DM to opt you out of the Data Assistant feature.

Thank you, @Esther Trapadoux. For everyone reading this post, you should know that @jacobn mentioned in another thread that this Data Assistant is powered by OpenAI. Though it wasn’t mentioned in this particular post, it’s worth knowing this, because OpenAI’s business is founded on open toxicity toward intellectual property, secretive development (despite massive calls for auditing & transparency), and the pursuit of TESCREAL agendas that aim to make humans even more unequal than they already are. (See https://washingtonspectator.org/understanding-tescreal-silicon-valleys-rightward-turn/)

Of course, OpenAI’s edge over its competitors’ products in the genAI space is its API, which makes it understandable for Amplitude to use. Nevertheless, it means supporting such a business and the risk that goes with it.
