📊 Improved attribution in Data Tables

This month, we’re thrilled to announce an upgrade to attribution in Data Tables! We have made four big improvements to our attribution model, including:
- Increasing the group-by property limit from 10 to 20 to support more complex analyses.
- Separating pruned values into their own group to prevent filtering from altering results.
- Improving the time resolution from a 12-hour window to 1 millisecond, ensuring property value changes are captured accurately.
- Refining attribution semantics so that only top-level properties apply attribution.
These improvements deliver more refined insights while handling complex analyses exactly as you'd expect—ensuring your data tells the true story of your user journeys.

New Data & Activation releases
Get trusted data to power insight about your product. Amplitude helps you proactively manage and govern your data.
💫 Use Cohorts across Amplitude
You asked and we listened! This month, Amplitude introduced a new Cohort Sync Modal to connect cohorts across the platform, including Charts, Experiments, Guides, and Surveys. You can now activate a cohort with all our activation capabilities.

🙈 Hide specific events from the event stream
Some events — such as inactive events and noisy high volume events — can make the event stream difficult to read. To address this, we’ve added a new option in the visibility dropdown called “Hide from Event Streams.” This feature gives users a way to simplify their timeline so that they can view the events that matter most.
The best part? With the release of Autocapture Smart Event Names, users now have multiple options for handling Autocapture events in their event stream — you can leverage the smart names, or use this feature to hide selected events completely.

🔓 Access this feature by toggling the setting on an event in the Events page, and see it hidden in User Streams, Live Events, User Profiles, Group Profiles and Session Replays.
⭐ ️ Availability: This feature is available on all plans.
⌛ Detect duplicate events in taxonomy
During the creation of Labeled Events, users can now see if there is another event that already matches the same definition or another event that matches similar page elements. This update will save users time and help you and your team declutter your taxonomy of duplicate events.
Learn how to avoid event duplication.
🔓 Access via Data > Events > Labeled Events > *Launch Visual Labeling* > Right Side panel displays Duplicate/Similar Events.
⭐ ️ Availability: This feature is available on all plans.
🚧 Quickly identify broken events
Cleanup on aisle 3! This feature allows users to keep an eye on any events that may no longer be operational due to recent changes on their website. A new column and view in the Labeled Events page informs users about Labeled Events that have not received new events recently, allowing you to catch irrelevant events before they go dormant.
Learn how to find misconfigured events.
🔓 Access via Data > Events > Labeled Events > Recency column in table.
⭐ ️ Availability: This feature is available on all plans.
🍎 Improved Device Type Detection for Apple Devices
We're excited to announce an enhancement to our device type detection for Apple devices when using the Browser SDK 2.x! What's Changing – We've improved our backend logic to correctly identify Apple devices that were previously categorized as "(none)" in your analytics data. This update ensures more accurate device family attribution for Mac devices specifically.
Benefits
- More accurate device type reporting for Apple devices
- Better data quality for device-based analysis
- No disruption to existing device type classifications
Important Notes
- This change will only affect Apple devices previously showing as "(none)" in device type
- Historical data will remain unchanged
- New data will reflect the correct device types going forward
If you have any questions or concerns about this update, please contact our support team. This update will be rolled out to all customers over the next few weeks.
