I imported a cohort from a CSV file with x k rows of user IDs (email addresses). Amplitude is now showing an amount of significantly less users (cut by a couple thousand) in “population over time”. Why doesn’t this compute to the original row number in the CSV file? Where is the exclusion of user IDs happening? Thanks.
Hey there, when you upload a cohort via CSV, Amplitude will only include users who already exist in your account. If any of the user IDs in your CSV haven't triggered events in your product/have any events within Amplitude, they will not be included in the cohort population. It will not create any new users who don't already exist in your account. Additionally, if any of the user IDs in your CSV are duplicates or have formatting issues, they may also be excluded. It's possible that these factors could explain why the population size is less than the original number of rows in your CSV. I hope this helps clarify things!
