While trying to add a user/event property as a filter we are being asked to upgrade to a paid plan? Can someone please confirm if the feature to add user/event properties not included in the free plan or is there a way to add it? This is urgent! TIA!

Ability to add user/event properties is the core pillar of event analytics in Amplitude and is always available for all plans.
Can you elaborate what you are trying to do? Are you getting it while instrumenting your events or charting your events in charts?
A screenshot of the error message should help.
One thing to note is only certain paid plans allow you to filter all properties on “Any Event”.
If that selected property is ingested with a given Event A, then you can filter on Event A only, and not any other event.
