Hello,
We currently have an implementation where we have Amplitude initialized on our site using the older amplitude-js/7.1.0.
We want to upgrade using the GTM templates. My plan was to run these side by side so I can see the number of events tracked using each library. However I’m running into a challenge.
I tried configuring my templates to set the session and device id in GTM to copy these values from the older library. It works (sort of), not always when site loads.
What would be the best migration plan here. I can’t just simply switch without verifying tracking is similar if not better.

Hi Rudy,
Thanks for writing in, and I would be happy to help you with this!
There are three different templates which one were you trying to use? Also can you tell me more about why your attempted solution 'works (sort of),' but not always?
Best,
Sydney
P.S. Checkout upcoming events and user meetups on our events page.
