We’re currently implementing as described here.

(1) Which response should we send back to the client-library if we decide to drop the request? (for various reasons)

(2) I assume the `ip` field needs to be replaced with the client’s IP?

How should i pass an original ip using nginx proxy?

Amplitude dashboards show me nginx ip.

@Dmitry Kozlov thanks for writing in about this, I’ve asked someone on the technical team to help answer this!


@Esther Trapadoux Do you have an update on this? I am also running into the issue where using a proxy results in using the IP address of the server instead. I also included the x-forwarded-for headers expecting that Amplitude would consume those instead but Amplitude is still recording the server’s IP instead of the client’s.
