Instead of creating a domain proxy, can I just make an ALIAS DNS record that points to

My team needs to set things up so that network requests to Amplitude from our site go to a subdomain of our site’s domain. So e.g. to “” instead of “”.

I see the documentation for setting up a domain proxy:

But we don’t actually need any of the features that come with setting up our own server to be the proxy; we just need Amplitude to work for certain users when they allowlist “*”, without them having to also separately allowlist Amplitude’s domain.

Instead of having to set up and maintain our own proxy infrastructure, is it supported for us to just create a DNS ALIAS record that points “” to “”, so the requests still go directly to Amplitude servers, but via our custom domain?
