Funnel analysis

Hi everyone, 

I have two questions:

1. How does Amplitude conduct its funnel analysis? What attributes does it base on when determining if the following event was conducted?
2. I want to start analyzing the reasons did not move on to the next step, is there a way to extract the raw data of amplitude’s comparison. I want to create a “JOIN” between the event’s (step 1 and step 2) raw data and then see what is in common for those who did not complete the funnel.
