Survicate responses not connecting with existing amplitude user profiles

We recently integrated amplitude with survicate. We are seeing that the event is sending when a user fills out a survey (survicate_survey_answered), but it is creating a new user ID for them and not connecting to their original account in amplitude. Can someone help me figure out what I need to do to make sure the users sent to amplitude from survicate have the correct profiles connected?
