I don’t quite get why my day 0 retention is so low. To ensure it really only counted new users who opened the app, I made “app opened at least once” a criteria. Would be great if someone could point me to what the issue is (btw: this issue only appears if I use “new user” as a starting event)

When you set up the query like this, it looks for users that have first been identified as new users and then later open the app again. So essentially you are seeing that a percentage of your new users don’t open the app for the second time on their first day.

Do you have non-app users as well? If not, the cohort definition seems redundant.
