For me, often I want to create a chart with a slight variation based on one thing.

For instance, I may have a chart segmented based on one event.

But then, I may want the same view, time period, other things I’m comparing, etc. on a different event in a new chart.

My default, most straightforward way of thinking about and creating such a new chart is to (in Chrome) right click the tab at top and choose to duplicate the tab.

Then in the duplicated tab, I would choose the event I want to change, and choose a different event.

After choosing a new event, I would then save the chart named differently, ie Product B Chart instead of Product A Chart.

However, Amplitude doesn’t seem to allow this, and saves all these updates to the original chart, with it being re-named.

This in turn, makes this whole path of creating a new chart useless, and based on this, the only feasible way to accomplish what I originally set out to do, is to create an entirely new chart based on the create button in the top left navbar.

So this is just something that I thought might be helpful for the future.

Hi Herb, have you tried using the “Copy” functionality (in the ‘More’ menu)?

I believe this does exactly what you are describing in your request.
