Let’s say I have an event X.

I would like to see a line chart with the number of users who:

  1. Performed this event at the each date

AND

  1. Performed the same event at least K times within previous N days from the date?

For example. Today is October 21st. Today I have 100 users who performed the event X today and also performed this event between Oct 14 and Oct 20. At the same chart I can see 200 users who performed the event X yesterday (Oct 20) and also performed this event between Oct 13 and Oct 19. Etc.

Hi Andrey,

This is Yuanyuan from the Amplitude Support team - happy to assist!

This would be the chart for your use case: https://app.amplitude.com/analytics/demo/chart/new/1snmpt57. The 'rolling over 7 days' condition fits 'previous N days from the date.'

I hope this is helpful!

Best,
Yuanyuan

Hi @Yuanyuan Zhang,

Thanks for your reply and the link! This exactly looks like a solution for my problem. Am I correct that in my case I also need to add ‘offset by 1 day’ ?

… Today is October 21st. Today I have 100 users who performed the event X today and also performed this event between Oct 14 and Oct 20. ...

Hi Andrey,

You are very welcome! This is an excellent point. Indeed in your case, you should add 'offset by 1 day’

Yuanyuan

Again thanks a lot @Yuanyuan Zhang !

Can I ask one more question?

Using your example with “Play Song or Video >= 8” can we add a condition “within 8 separate sessions”?

Hi Andrey,

This is, unfortunately, not possible at the moment as it would need a feature that can count distinct property values. This feature is supported in cohort logic currently but not in the event segmentation chart. Please feel free to submit a feature request via the Amplitude UI.

Best,
Yuanyuan
