Hi,

I want to know about how to calculate overall retention.

According to this document, overall retention is calculed as follows.

The method for calculating overall retention as described in the Amplitude official documentation.

The document says, "Dividing 55,752 by 137,586 gives us a Day 3 retention of 63.8%, but if you actually calculate it, (55752 / 137586) * 100 = 40.5%.

In my data as well, when calculated in the same way as above, the actual calculated value differs from the retention values displayed in the table.

Retention calculated with my data.

It says on the table that Day 1 retention is 17.4%, but if you actually divide 990 by 5,790, it's 17.1%. And other Day N Retention values come out differently as well.

Why is the overall retention value displayed in the table different from the actual calculated value?
