Hi folks,
I’m confused wether I should track my usage retention by setting the starting event as “New User” (default) or as “Any Event” (as taught in some Amplitude tutorials).
Which one would be more accurate?
I’m currently setting as “Any event” => came back and did “Active Event”

Hi
This depends on what exactly you are trying to measure.
When you select the starting event to be “New User”, you are measuring the retention of new users.
When you select the starting event to be “Any Event”, you are measuring the retention of users in general.
