Hi,
I want to use stickiness analysis to improve our onboarding flow and to test ideas.
For that reason, we want to check stickiness trying to answer the following question: “how many times of users visit the platform within the 14 days after their sign-up date, who signed up in September”. It is easy to filter who signed up on specific month, i.e, September in this example, through adding event condition.
Yet, the results are coming based on the specific month’s performance, which causes problems. For instance;
If users who join on the last day of the September, users have only have that single day to engage with the platform within that month. Therefore, their stickiness for that month would be limited to one day, as they wouldn't have any opportunity to return on additional days within the same calendar month.
This limitation is inherent in using a monthly stickiness chart. Stickiness charts measure how many unique days within a specific period (e.g., a month) a user performed an event, but does not count the performed events after that month. For users who joined late in the month, the time frame for potential engagement is naturally shorter, which affects their stickiness score.
To prevent this, we want to check using a Rolling 7-Day or 14-Day Stickiness Window > Instead of a calendar month, we want to track consistent measurement over a set number of days after sign-up, independent from the limits of the month.
I am not sure whether I explained clearly yet due to this reason, I can not measure “onboarding performance through stickiness according to the users who signed up in a specific period”
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
