I can't understand what the value of initial_referrer is none means?

shouldn't it be empty?

In short:

  • none means there is no data for a user.
  • EMPTY means a user visited a web-site/app directly (no referral information is available).

Imaging you already have 1000 users, and just come up with a brand-new user property A (UP A). So, you set it up, and wait for 24 hours. During those 24 hours, 100 users visited the web-site/app and got UP A.
So, if you try to create a report with a new property A, how Amplitude should mark those 900 users left without any info about UP A (they haven’t visited the web-site/app yet)? It’s going to be none, since there is no information regarding the property in question.
