Hello :)

I have one question related to the effect of Amplitude SDK on the app-size.
We have currently enabled Amplitude over Segment, but thinking to integrate Amplitude SDK directly.
So, I am wondering if integrating the Amplitude SDK will affect app performance and increase app download time?

Thank you.

Best,

Mateja

Hello @Mateja Tomek :)

Thanks for writing in to support!  You can see the Java SDK or any of our SDKs by following the npm link such as for the javascript SDK here which has an unpacked size of 2.4MB. If you switch over to the Amplitude SDK, your load time and download time for the application would not be affected much at all. It should not add any great amount of time to it.

I hope that helps!

Hi @Denis Holmes :)

Thank you for the response!

All clear for Java SDK, but I cannot find the info for unpacked size for iOS and Android SDK.
Could you please share the link same as for Java SDK?

Best,
Mateja

Hi @Mateja Tomek :)

Indeed, it is not available all the time, apologies for that! There is a very handy extension I have for chrome which is the GithuB Repository Size add.-on.  It might be something that you might find handy for the future!

For the Amplitude-iOS the size is roughly 6MB.

The Android SDK is approximately 46MB.

The Java SDK is under 1MB, about 105Kb.

I hope this helps! Let me know if I can help any further

Kind Regards,
Denis
