User profile API is not returning cohort ids list

I am calling https://profile-api.amplitude.com/v1/userprofile endpoint with required params but I see that cohort_ids is always an empty array for every user id. Why is this the case? Even though the users are part of many cohorts.

This is Yuanyuan from the Amplitude Support team - thank you for writing this post!

It would appear that in order to get Cohort IDs, you need to the use User Profile API alongside the Recommend package. It can also be used separately to recommend but only to get the user properties.
