Question

Airbyte connector and issues with Cohorts

Hi, I’ve connected Amplitude to our Airbyte cloud using the Airbyte Amplitude Connector. While I can extract event lists fine for example, I have issues with Cohorts.
Is there some kind of specific PAI key permissions I need to set up ?

note : it does work fine on my local machine with a curl request.

Thank you for your help !

Hi Anne-Sophie,

Thank you for reaching out! I understand you’re experiencing issues with Cohorts after connecting Amplitude to Airbyte using the Amplitude Connector, and you’re wondering if specific PAI key permissions need to be set up.

To address your query, Amplitude does not require specific PAI key permissions for Cohort functionality when using integrations like Airbyte. However, there are a few things to check:

1. **API Key Permissions**: Ensure that the API key you’re using has the necessary permissions to access Cohort data. Typically, this would require Admin or Manager-level access within Amplitude. You can manage API key permissions in your Amplitude settings.
2. **Cohort Syncing**: If you’re syncing Cohorts to external tools, ensure that the integration is configured correctly. For example, integrations like Segment or Customer.io require specific setup steps to sync behavioral cohorts.
3. **Local vs. Cloud Environment**: Since the curl request works fine on your local machine, it’s worth verifying that the environment settings in Airbyte Cloud match those of your local setup. This includes ensuring that the API key, endpoint URLs, and any network configurations are consistent.

If the issue persists, could you provide more details about the error or behavior you’re encountering with Cohorts in Airbyte? For example:

- Are you unable to retrieve Cohort data, or is the data incomplete?
- Are there any error messages or logs from Airbyte that could help diagnose the issue?

Feel free to share this information, and I’ll be happy to assist further!

Best,
Jake

Thank you for your response !
I’m Amplitude Admin, but I could not locate a menu somewhere to define permissions for the API keys…

Regarding Airbyte, the connections seems to work fine for Event_lists.
I have the following logs for cohorts : it looks like no records are read (when I do have a dozen of cohorts to pull)
I can’t see any errors, it just says ‘0 records read’…
Thank you !
