Completely hiding historical data of specific user property in Amplitude

What is the process to fully conceal the past data of a particular user attribute in Amplitude, and could you provide an explanation of the problem related to this inquiry? But please underline that I don’t want the events that contain that user property to be deleted. I just want to hide the user property

You can go to Data > Properties > User Properties and toggle user properties to “hidden” in there, example below…

Hope this helps!

Hi @dangrainger thank you so much for answering this question! I really appreciate it^^

Previously, I already hide the event yesterday but it still shown on the chart. Do you know why is it still happening?

Hi @Novita Olivera -- is this newly hidden event property still appearing in the chart dropdown? It may take 24 hours for the change to be reflected in the UI, so I just want to check!

I’m facing the same issue here. Was it resolved?

@Mohammad Abdelwahab welcome! I’ve also opened up a ticket to get more eyes on this issue. 👀

Hey there, following up on this exact same topic. I passed the user property I want to hide to “Hidden” and still visible in the Event Stream of this user (I triggered an event with my own account after having done the change).

@Amplitude team: can you please confirm the hide user property feature is working well and an alternative solution if this one is not bulletproof?

Thanks a lot!

If you need to hide or remove it, you have a few options. One way is to create a custom user cohort that excludes those values and filter reports based on that. Another is to overwrite the property with a null or placeholder value moving forward, but past data will still exist.
