Using Amplitude

We have a conversion event that occurs before certain user properties are set, but we need to segment these conversion events by demographic properties that are collected later in the user journey.Specifically, users convert before we collect demographic data like [age, location, etc.], but we want to understand which demographic segments are converting from which acquisition sources. We've tried looking at user property settings in Amplitude but haven't found a way to retroactively apply properties to earlier events.Is there a way to segment historical events by user properties that were set after those events occurred? Or would we need to modify our tracking implementation to capture this data differently?

I can´t save any question, I think because I over pass the number of sessions replays but is ridiculous. Please can you help me to solve that?

We had everything up and running. 8 days ago something broke. The current setup:GTM Amplitude for Webflow (stops on root .domain.ai) Browser SDK for subdomain where the app is beta.domain.ai We are only tracking with autocapture plus user_idYesterday, when checking the onboarding funnel I realized we have no events, not from GTM not form Browser SDK. You still see people being online, you evene see events at live events. But no single event when trying to build charts.What is going on? What could we have done that it breaks like that?

We are experimenting with amplitude for a couple of our customers.  When watching a session the text appears as **** **** and not text.  Is this normal?   Some pages because of naming and design its hard to tell what pay they are on without seeing the text. Also some sessions are full of click  span and click event when they are not really doing anything.  I think one of them might be a slide show indexing.  Anyway to shut those type of events off. The sessions are enlightening. Would like to get more use out of it.

Hi. Could someone please help?Added latest version of the sdk (v1.11.10) for iOS. Everything works except device related properties: Platform, Device Family, Carrier, OS are not automatically detected. Hi, Amplitude Community!I’ve hit the limit of 10 saved charts on my account, but when I go to the "All Content" tab, I can only find 4 charts. Hi there, I'm seeing Amplitude report up to 8x more traffic than Plausible. Using @amplitude/analytics-browser 2.9.3 on NextJS. Amplitude is init on a useEffect in pages/_app.tsx I'm filtering events on Amplitude by Page Location === exact URL of my home page. Same on Plausible. We have both Plausible and Amplitude JS scripts / api endpoint behind our own proxy, bypassing adblockers. We have enabled the "Block bot traffic" filter on Amplitude several weeks ago. One weird pattern I noticed is Amplitude showing us some IPs consistenly creating 20+ unique users. Doesn't seem to be big enough to justify all the extra traffic reported though. I trust Plausible numbers to be more accurate here, and that's very unfortunate since I want to measure my funnel using Amplitude. My trial conversion rate will go below 1% with these inflated numbers. Any ideas what could be going on? Could it be that Amplitude's bot filtering is just bad? Thanks

I’m facing that some events are not tracked on Amplitude for the small amount of users. For example, “event-01” is not tracked on “user-01”, but it’s tracked for others. Is there any recommendation to check that kind of issue?

As part of one of our guides we want the user to click on a “product” on the homepage and then inside the “product profile” page (/product/[id]) we want the user to continue his guide ( make the “purchase”) does Amplitude currently support any way of doing this? when i direct the user to another page the Guide does not continue from the next step, they have to start the guide again.

I have a event called visit, with a field called StoryId. I want my dashboard users to be able to enter in a value for StoryId on the dashboard Then I want all the charts in the dashboard to filter storyId by that value  Is this possible?

Hello all, we’re working on implementing the guides and surveys functionality and running into a few issues and looking for any guidance or support from other users who have run into these issues. The survey does not immediately load for the user. The user is required to refresh the page before the survey is shown. When targeting a specific page for the survey, when the user lands on that page the survey is shown (note: this is after a refresh still) however, we want to only show this on one page, and when the user moves to another page, the survey remains. 

Hey Community, I tried posting these questions before but didn’t receive much traction, hoping this one gets movement. We’re having some issues with the guides and surveys install, but hope these can be resolved. The survey does not immediately load for the user. In a Segmentation chart, I want to calculate the total (sum) of the price, grouped by product ID, for the event "purchased". How can I set this up?

Is there a way to combine marketing user email events from sendgrid to an existing user? We send marketing emails to people who showed interest in our product. Sendgrid events use email as user id in amplitude. When they convert, i want to tie those events to user that’s created. We are NOT using email as amplitude user id, but a different unique id. After they convert, is there anyway i can associate those marketing marketing email events to now converted user on amplitude? Since user id’s are different in amplitude, this seems impossible…..Thank you in advance! 

I want to set up some event properties that are used by many events, however I have noticed that I cannot have it set as required for some events, and optional for others. When I change an event property to optional, it changes it to optional for all events. Is it possible to have some properties be optional for some events, and required for others?Did I hit a bug or a feature?

Hi,I am using httpapi to send events .. I notice when i do not send the device_id .. It is automatically added but hashed using the user_id as input ..I need to know what is the hashing used .. I mean something like md5, sha1, sha128 .. or any other hashing methods ?!
