Problem:
Light users often struggle to find the dashboards they need.
"Spaces" feels like an outdated folder-file structure and is hard to navigate.
What’s missing:
Easy, direct access to dashboards that are officially managed and approved by the company "Amplitude admins"
Current setup:
- The top menu includes Favorites, Spaces, and Recent, but casual users often get lost trying to find what they need.
- The Home Dashboard doesn't support links – instead, it shows Templates, which might not be relevant or helpful for most users.
- The left menu includes Home, Marketing Analytics, and Product Analytics – but no easy access to dashboards.
Suggestion:
- Top menu: Let admins optionally enable a "Dashboard" dropdown, with customizable content.
- Home view: Reuse the "Templates" layout but let admins add a "Dashboards" row with links to company-approved dashboards. This row could also include personal favorites or be tailored to user groups.
- Left menu: Add a section with the same feel as Product Analytics – but showing dashboards curated by admins. Works similar to the top menu dropdown.Overall, this is all about making it easier for users to find the dashboards they need – or the ones they should be using.
