Hello!

We are currently using Data (Beta) using a Trial Enterprise plan. We just wanted to know how close is Amplitude to officially launching Data, and out of Beta? If we decide not to use Data (Beta) - then what are the alternative features/add ons etc that we would use to gain the equivalent set up? For context, we would like surface data sitting in an S3 bucket through to Amplitude.

Also, is there a place to submit feedback or any bugs that we encounter?

Thank you!

All the best,

Helen

Hi Helen,

We’re close to moving Amplitude Data to GA. We’re not quite at feature parity yet with support for some of our add ons (Accounts + Portfolio), and the Taxonomy API. If you decide that these are features that you need in the meantime than we can revert your account back to the previous version of Govern, but you’ll loose some of the developer experience tooling and planning capabilities that are only available in Amplitude Data. You should be able to ingest data from S3 bucket regardless of if you’re on Amplitude Data or the previous Govern version.

Hi @patrickthompson ,

Thank you for your response! Just wondered roughly when the Taxonomy API will be available to use in Amplitude Data (Beta)? And also roughly when Amplitude will go to GA?

Also could you clarify on which tooling and planning capabilities below would be lost:

loose some of the developer experience tooling and planning capabilities that are only available in Amplitude Data

Many thanks again!

All the best,

Helen

The Taxonomy API is scheduled to be ported to Amplitude Data later this year. This will be a breaking change from the existing API and include more functionality.

We’re a few months away from removing the Beta label on Amplitude Data as we want to make sure we get the experience right. We’ll start migrating organizations once the product is GA.

Data Planning is available to everyone in Amplitude Data, but restricted in Govern to only Enterprise customers or those who pay for the Governance add-on. The experience for Data Planning in Amplitude Data is much richer and includes things like versioning, commenting, etc. and the developer experience in Amplitude Data includes generating strongly-typed SDKs which simplifies instrumentation and improves the entire workflow.

Cheers!
