Should the same user on two different devices count as 2 MTUs?

In Users & Sessions > User Look-up > Search Users, if I use advanced search to find a user by email, I find 2 or more (up to 16) Amplitude IDs mapped to the same email. It’s one person, and I assume this is due to use on separate devices (although 16 does seem odd, it’s just one person). I assume Amplitude is counting Amplitude IDs not unique emails, for MTUs. The result is almost 40% over-counting -- this is on a portal where everyone is logged in, so everyone has an email address.Does this sound right? Is this a flaw in our implementation of Amplitude? Is there a way to still use Amplitude IDs but de-dupe tracked users so there is only one Amplitude ID per email? Or is that something I shouldn’t want for some reason?

Event deletion without losing dashboards

We are struggling to figure out how we can meet our contractual obligations to our clients in deleting event data from Amplitude once the client offboards, and it appears so far that the only option is to delete the entire project and reload the scrubbed event data afterwards.  We are looking for another solution and not finding it. In this link to an Amplitude community post, there is a line that says For customers on the paid plans, you can explore our Data Sanitization Service (paid offering), which scrubs/removes selected data (e.g. PII) in Amplitude. Wondering what that Data Sanitization Service is, as there appears to be no further information on the Amplitude site about it.  Related question:  is there a data retention policy that can be set, where event data older than a certain date would be removed?

Hi,If I go to a particular event I can see this:However, if I go to my Project settings there are no limit warnings:Is it that for that particular event (AppStart) we have exceeded the limit? Is there somewhere else in the portal that shows these limits per event type?

How to move dashboards to another project?

Due to sensitivity of our event data, we have to remove it when a customer offboards -- not just the person data but the events themselves.Deleting event data is unsupported; we have to create a new project and backfill the sanitized data into it.But that means all our dashboards/analysis for all our other customers is still in the old project, which we need to delete.  How do we move the dashboards from the old project to the new, without having to re-create them?Thanks!

How to configure default properties for events?

Hey, we have a set of properties that every event should have. Since we’re trying to establish a flow where we create the event with it’s name, properties etc. in Amplitude Data first, then push it over to Jira using the integration, I was looking for a way to define some properties as standard properties for an event.The goal would be that when someone creates a new event, these default properties are always there already and also cannot be removed. This is to ensure data consistency.If this is not possible, I would be interested in how possible review/approval flows could like where a “data shepard” looks at each event that is about to be implemented to ensure it follows our guidelines.

API to query MTU quota for this month?

We use PostHog for events, and I am sending forward the events & users to Amplitude via the HTTPv2 batch API.We’ve gone over our MTU limit a couple times now, and I’d like to be able to make an API call to query what our current MTU quota is so far this month, so I can hold on sending events/users when we approach the limit.Right now I can see this displayed if I go to organizational settings, but as a DE I need to be able to get this number programmatically.   Is there a way to do so?

Hi community. I would like to ask how to set consent mode with Browser SDK 2.0.I need to track events without cookies. I tried optOut setting and localStorage setting.optOut setting: added a line, amplitude.setOptOut(true); localStorage setting: added option in initialization code amplitude.init(‘API key’, { identityStorage : ‘localStorage’}) When I tried no1, still I could find AMP_ cookies but I couldn’t find when I tried no2.So, here are real questions,Did I try appropriate ways? If not, please let me know how can I track events without cookies. In that case, I think no2 is the right way to achieve to my purpose. But when I searched ‘localStorage’ in console, I cannot find how can I track events. My ultimate purpose is get as same as possible to GA4 consent mode.I am not a developer so I have lack of knowledge of implement technical things. So please let me know specifictly how to do. Thanks a lot!

How to truncate datetime User property to the date format?

Hello, team. We have a user property (‘Install at’) in the format of date and time. Is it possible to truncate it to the date if we have the Growth plan but no Govern add-on?  I am able to create a new user property, but I am not able to add any formula to it. This new property has the status 'Planned.Also in the next steps I want to calculate the date diff between today and that install date, to know the LT of the user, is it possible?

Destination Data

How can we manage what data is passed on from Amplitude to a destination. Currently we see almost all data is passed on but we want to manage particularly what user properties are passed on. How do we edit it so we change what user properties are passed through to the destination. It currently says events and users and I do not see an ability to control what we pass through.

404 error in the Update event type of the Taxonomy API

It works fine with the Get an event type.but in the Update event type, I always encounter a 404 Not Found error. I understand the difference between GET and PUT,and I have correctly input the path parameters, but I still face this issue. I have tried directly using Postman and also made requests through a Python script, but the problem persists. Am I missing something, or is there an error causing this?Please help me, Thanks

Error Setting Up Snowflake Destination, despite successful test

Any idea how to troubleshoot this issue? I am trying to set up snowflake as an event destination, Everything works as expected until I get to the finish step of the integration. When I click “Finish” I get a non descriptive error message saying there was an error when trying to initiate the export. When I exit the flow, there is no destination set up in the destinations tab.

Combine Duplicate Properties Together

Hey everyone, Our engineers are updating the naming convention of our event and properties, but it’s causing duplicate properties. (Example: “Value” versus “value”). So now every chart needs to account for this. Is there a way to combine properties together so they show up as the same property on charts?

oAuth error when trying to connect Facebook Ads as a data source

Hello!I tried to connect Facebook Ads to Amplitude. I did all the required setup but when I get to the Verify Access section it shows this alert:Error: oAuth failedAmplitude was unable to access your Facebook Ads account using the provided OAuth information.How can I solve this?I tried to connect the Facebook Ads account again, but I do not know how to do delete the connection and connect it again. As you can see it says this: OAuth via Facebook AdsYou have successfully connected to a Facebook Ads account!But again, the problem with the oAuth still remains. What's happening? Missing event properties in chart

Hello,I have an event with some properties. When I see this event in the user look-up section I see properties : recommendation, to_profile, origin with associated values. But when i’m trying to build a chard I can’t find these properties. In the Data section these properties are shown as Planned.Is it a problem, or is there a delay between the first appearance of the property and its appearance in the carts ?

Export Project-level Data (event/property usage, limits, event volume)

Hey there, looking to programmatically export some of the Project-level data that is shown in the Organization Settings > Projects > General tab so that we can pull this data into our BI tool and include it in a dashboard. Event Types + Limit Event Properties + Limit User Properties + Limit Events this monthIt looks like there’s an API that’s called by the Amplitude app to fetch this data, but from what I understand that isn’t available for use by customers. Any other ideas on how to pull this data? Would there be a way to capture this though a chart + Export API?
