I guess the answer is probably “yes,” but when we switched to the Android Kotlin SDK, our event count tripled, so I guess I should just block them in the “Data” section if needed?

Yes they do count against monthly quotas @Anthony, I checked this with the support team when the session start/ end events were first launched.
