We are in the process of updating several user properties (for example, user_joined_through = “deeplink/regular open/from social media”) with each app launch on both Android and iOS platforms. We are utilizing the Identify API and the set function to achieve this. On the Android SDK, this process works seamlessly. Every time the app is opened, we trigger the Identify function with the new user property value, and these updates are correctly reflected on the Amplitude dashboard. However, we are experiencing issues with the iOS SDK. Once user properties are set on iOS, we cannot update them with new values upon subsequent app launches. These changes do not appear in the Amplitude dashboard. Why is there a discrepancy between the Android and iOS SDKs when using the same function? If we set a new value, it should be updated and reflected in the Amplitude dashboard, correct?

Hi, I have just install Amplitude through Google Tag Manager using the JS Browser SDK. I am not a developper (but a marketing guy)and I try to figure out a simple way to collect the user e-mail adress into Amplitude. Our application is only for connected users. So everyone has to sign in. I tried to look at the documenttation and I saw that :amplitude.setUserId('user@amplitude.com'); 1) Is it that code I need to use ? What is the e-mail variable I need to use ? 2) If yes, can i add it to my existing code in Google tag manager ? 3) Is it possible to use the e-mail as a UserID and should I separate it ? UserID with a number and create a new property for e-mail ? Thank you for your answer  

Hello, we are using the Amplitude React Native SDK in our Expo app. We are trying to enable tracking Advertising IDs so that we can successfully send and match attribution data from AppsFlyer.Although sending events from AppsFlyer is working, it seems unable to match the events with any users, we suspect its related to missing or incorrect Advertiser IDs.We have tried enabling all the tracking options:amplitude.init(API_KEY, OPTIONAL_USER_ID, { trackingOptions: { appSetId: true, adId: true, idfv: true, },});But for Android we are unsure how to add the the play-services-appset and play-services-ads-identifier dependencies? As this is an Expo project, we do not have android or ios folders for native code.We understand that by setting these config options, the “device_id” of a user in amplitude should be their advertiser id? However, when we examine users in our Amplitude dashboard and compare their device id to the their phone’s advertiser id, they are different.Do you have an

I've set up Amplitude event tracking through Google Tag Manager (GTM) and have an Initiate Tag and a Track Tag configured. When a user signs up, I can see the data recorded under the 'Registered' event. However, UTM details like utm_medium and utm_source are being logged under event properties instead of user properties.I tried creating a separate tag in GTM to set user properties, but the UTM details still don't appear under user properties in Amplitude. Can anyone help me understand what I might be doing wrong or guide me on how to properly set UTM details as user properties?

Hey folks,I am in the process of integrating Amplitude on our app using `@amplitude/analytics-browser` package, and I am getting this error, where I have no idea why/how I am getting it since I haven’t added any plugin….  analytics-browser-2.11.9-min.js.gz:1 Amplitude Logger [Warn]: Plugin name is undefined.       Generating a random UUID for plugin name: 27c3f0b0-790b-4df4-b989-27232fd9542f.       Set a name for the plugin to prevent it from being added multiple times. Any help would be much appreciated in advance. Thank you,

Is there any way of grouping OSes my their major version?I have a lot of different versions of OSes which are recorded for the events from our app like ios 14.4, ios 14.2, ios 14.3, ios 14.4.2, ios 13.7, ios 13.6.1, ios 13.5.1 etc. Is there any way of making a chart with grouping them by their major version number like 12.X, 13.X and 14.X ?

Whenever client logs an event in amplitude, its makes an HTTPS request to amplitude api, the payload of that request  contains the projects API key. This means it can be misused and wrong data can be sent.The first solution to prevent this that came to my mind is to create a proxy service that redirects the events to amplitude after authenticating the request but it has its own cost, so my questions here are:What are the best practices around here to prevent it? Is it suggested to let the API Key exposed?  Thanks,Devanshu  

Hello there,I am facing some discrepancies between the attribution data I see directly via Amplitude’s front end and what is landing on BigQuery via the export.I have created some segmentation fields with rules based on UTM fields. Let's use the ‘L3-Channel’ field and the date of 2025-01-02 for this example.Both Affiliates and Referrals are getting results on Amplitude, meaning the UTM rules are matching, but when consuming this same period dataset from BigQuery, I have no ‘referral’, matching ‘affiliate’, or ‘ANY’ records. From a closer look, most of these UTMs that were supposed to match seem to be coming in as ‘ORGANIC’.So the most important question would be, what can be the cause of this mismatch between the UTMs on both places, and what is the best approach to ensure consistency? Jan-2 Affiliates Jan-2 Referral Field rules I can provide the dataset I am getting from BQ also if it helps, just let me know the right way to share it

I have implemented tracking event, I can see “user, email, event” in “Live event” but when I access the “Data → Events” and then select that event, there are no “people” on the “USED BY” tab even the even row shows “36” at count column   

How do I connect Supabase ( where all my usage data and billing data is) to Amplitude? I have not found any helpful guides to do it

Hey, we’re developing an invoice approval solution. We sent multiple reminders to users when they have open approvals:A daily email digest that gets send in the morning when you have open approvals A mobile push notificaiton on every new invoice approval request A mobile push notification where you can be @mentioned An email for @mentions etc.We want to learn how users are coming to our app. Are the notifications working? I think for the emails we can use the referrer parameter. But what about push notifications?

Hello,  Q1 : I’m struggling with updating user properties for our users using csv file we made a test on a single user on our production project. In the bellow attached photo is the row that have been uploaded into amplitude from sources > Csv file  the ID is for an actual user on our data base and we mapped our user id in the table with the amplitude property (User ID)After doing these steps we couldn’t notice any change on the user from user lookup. what are the right steps to update our user properties using csv? 

We recently switched from Posthog to Amplitude. We don’t use the Amplitude SDK; instead, we use the Rudderstack SDK in cloud mode + the Amplitude Experiments SDK.With Posthog, we had to reset the anonymousId on logout. However, there’s no anonymousId in Amplitude. We only have the deviceId. What should we clear on logout? And should we clear the deviceId?----------------------------------------------------------So, here’s some context:We don’t require an account to browse our app/website, except to checkout. So users usually browse logged out, and then sign up/sign in at the last step. Users may (and do) sign into multiple accounts (not at the same time!). They sign into one account, purchase, sign out, maybe browse a bit, then sign into a different account, make another purchase, ... Even though it’s the same device, we can’t treat them as the same person. Hello!I created 3 similar BigQuery sources from similar tables. 2 of them works normal and the last works only 1 day and then no data though there aren’t any errors, it refreshes but no data appear in Amplitude. What’s wrong?

Hi Community,Does anyone who uses the BigQuery integration have the same problem as me? The integration has created literally tens of thousands of transfer configurations over the last year, which has made the GCP BigQuery Data Transfers UI more or less unusable as a result.If so: What do people usually do about this?Is it really necessary for the integration to create a new configuration every hour, or am I missing something?

I am a free plan user and have set up S3 as the Destination in Connections.Although I can confirm that gz files are being transmitted to S3 every hour,I've noticed that the number of exported events is significantly lower than what is shown in the web UI.When searching for specific users, I've discovered that there is data loss occurring.I'm not sure what aspects I should investigate to resolve this issue.

Hello, I’m facing this problem where my Amplitude dashboard still contains empty page titles even though I am seeing the events being sent on the web app. For context, I’m using NextJS. The page title is generated using generateMetadatahttps://nextjs.org/docs/app/api-reference/functions/generate-metadata I am not able to figure out why we are still receiving events with empty page titles. Screenshot of Amplitude Data Table 

I am sending Revenue events from my NodeJS backend using the SDK.As per the documentation, all the revenue events from backend should be marked as Unverified.But some of the events are marked as Verified as well. Some events are also getting duplicated with both Verified and Unverified status. How can I make all of the events to come under one category?

Hello everyone,I'm currently trying to figure out how to stitch sessions across sources. Here's the scenario: a user starts a session on our mobile app and is then redirected via an external link to a web flow that also uses our web SDK. I want the web event to be part of the same session that started on the mobile app.Would sending the session ID as a parameter in the redirect link and reusing it to manually set the web session ID accomplish this? Or is there a better way to achieve this? Additionally, some events might be triggered from our backend server using the Amplitude API, which could also set both the user and session IDs.Any suggestions or insights on this would be greatly appreciated!

I`m testing events and I use GTM and event explorer to verified if the events is triggered¡ In the event explorer I can see the event with the user_id but in user I can´t see events for that user_id¡  

You can send data from Mixpanel through our backfill process using the Batch API. Some additional instrumentation best practices to remember:  Multi-platform products: Different taxonomy = different projects, same taxonomy = same project If different platforms have same taxonomies, then send to the same project (allows for cross-platform analysis) Create test projects: Have a test project for every production project Instrumentation limits: 2000 event types, 2000 event properties, and 1000 user properties Character limits: 1024 for all values, 10,000 for arrays if using append/ prepend operations Data values: ISO-8601 format (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss)  Sensitive data: We recommend NOT sending any PII/ non-compliant with privacy regulation data to Amplitude.  Comment here if you hit any roadblocks. Hi, we are currently using the Google Tag Manager Template to autotrack page views, form submits, and clicks on our marketing website. We are using Segment in the product once a user signs up to track various product events. We also have Segment on the website, but it’s not integrated with Amplitude there. I’d like to know how we can ensure that Amplitude’s GTM tag uses the Segment anonymousId, so that we can ensure that both Segment + Amplitude utilize the same anonymousId to ensure proper identity resolution once a user logs in or signs up.
