By now you’ve probably noticed the redesign in our chart experience cblog post]. Amplitude has removed the fold between query build & chart visual displays by creating this side-by-side view that enables you to see chart visual changes in real-time as you update your chart query.
As your chart query becomes more complex with multiple events, properties, segments, you may need to start scrolling down in the left navigation chart control bar to tweak your query. This scrolling might slow you down in your chart build. While you can manually expand the width of the left nav chart control bar, there are also a few keyboard shortcuts that can help accelerate how you build charts and navigate in the product.
Watch this short video to learn how to expand and collapse some of the chart build elements to optimize how you build complex charts and reduce noise when displaying the chart visuals to your team.
- l to collapse chart controls (left bracket on keyboard)
- ] to expand chart controls by 3x (right bracket on keyboard)
- e to collapse / expand Events modal
- m to collapse / expand Measured as modal
- s to collapse / expand Segment by modal
Give it a try in your next chart build! Let me know if this helps you as much as it helps me.
