Greetings fellow Datamonsters!

This is the first in our series of shining a spotlight on our fellow community members. We appreciate all of your engagement so far and we want everyone to have a chance to be able to learn more about the community members you interact with most!

Have you noticed our Amplitude Champion @Saish Redkar ? You have probably seen him at the top of the leaderboard or answering questions. We would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about the person behind the username.

Could you give a brief introduction to yourself to the Amplitude Community? What company do you work for, what do you do there, and what is a fun fact about yourself?

I work with Trimble SketchUp, a 3D design and modeling software product suite as a Data Analyst/Engineer. I primarily work on our product analytics stack and mainly focused on instrumenting our products, generating key product insights, and enabling data pipelines for sharing metrics.

Fun fact - I have had 26 of the 34 Cheesecakes at the Cheesecake Factory. 8 more to go, unless they introduce new ones :D

How are you using Amplitude within your current role and for how long have you been using it?

SketchUp has got a wide range of products across platforms ranging from desktop, web, mobile to AR/VR applications and tiered subscription bundles. We use Amplitude for analyzing our product usage data across our products and SaaS offerings. I have been using Amplitude for almost 4 years now.

What Amplitude features do you most heavily use?

Event Segmentation, Cohorts, Cross Project View, Retention and Lifecycle Charts

What features are you interested in that you haven’t yet had a chance to dive into?

Personas and Impact Analysis.

Why did you join the Amplitude Community?

Each organization out there has its own unique way of using Amplitude - so many different use cases of using one particular feature, instrumentation methodology, etc. I was eager to learn more about that, the best practices involved, and keeping myself informed of new product releases.

Can you share with potential community members the most valuable thing you’ve gotten out of the Amplitude Community so far?
I have certainly gained exposure to some key aspects of Amplitude that I wasn't aware of prior to joining the Amplitude Community. Apart from knowing how other Amplitude users are using the different features, I have found quite some interest in the data integration side of things based on the discussions/questions in the community i.e. the different ways of combining and analyzing your Amplitude data alongside data residing in other business systems/tools.

Do you have any advice for teams who are just starting to use Amplitude in their Organization?

Know the "why" behind your product instrumentation process. It is important to chalk out the questions you wish to answer about your product beforehand and iterate upon them as you progress.

Also - keeping the data governance solid from the beginning will help you in the long term.

How do you see the Product Analytics ecosystem evolving?
It's a really exciting space to be in now given the penetration of digital products in our lives. The impact an organization can have by leveraging its product usage data is tremendous. As more and more self-serve analytics tools crop up in this space, it is going to be increasingly challenging to make the right choice. Going by the trend, I strongly feel that combining product analytics with predictive capabilities is going to be the next stepping stone in uncovering some of the secrets to building great products.

Anything else you’d like to say to other Amplitude Community members or Amplitude users?

Amplitude is growing really fast in its capabilities and the launch of this community comes at the right time. I'm hoping everyone can tap into the resources and knowledge offered by the Platform Specialists and Amplitude users here and extract maximum value in their journey of product analytics.

I definitely agree with your top 2 @Saish Redkar! It’s that I don’t like bananas in general but would agree with your top 3 otherwise!
