Cross-Platform Unity Integration (beyond iOS and Android)

Hello!I was very disappointed to learn that the Amplitude Unity plugin only supports iOS and Android platforms. Unity game engine supports a variety of other platforms also:For what purpose has the Unity integration been limited to iOS and Android?Is it possible to integrate Amplitude for the other platforms, such as PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox, PlayStation, and WebGL?Within Unity, could the HTTP API V2 be used instead of the Amplitude Unity plugin if platforms beyond iOS and Android are targeted (such as Unity + Windows/PC)?

Security Vulnerability: "Unsafe HostnameVerifier Defined" - How to fix?

Hello! I am using the Amplitude Unity SDK (latest version 2.4.0) for an Android project - specifically for Oculus Quest 2 VR. I'm getting a security vulnerability failure in the Oculus dashboard when I upload my build. It says "Unsafe HostnameVerifier Defined" (see image below). In Visual Studio I searched through my entire solution in C# and I don't see any mention of HostnameVerifier, so I don't understand how to fix this issue. My assumption is that the issue lies in a 3rd party SDK that accesses the internet, aka the Amplitude Unity SDK.Does anyone know how to fix this issue? This issue is currently halting the release of my team's app since it fails Oculus's security vulnerability test.

Does disconnecting a data source have any impact on pre-existing data in Amplitude?

Hi, We have Segment as one of our data sources with visual dashboards of DAU, WAU and MAU dating back two to three years ago. Does disconnecting Segment have any impact on pre-existing data?Also, can you export any data after the data source has been disconnected? Thank you!

Parameter as object

I'm implementing Amplitude for the first time and I'm having a problem with the second event fired. Every time the following error appears: TypeError: Cannot convert undefined or null to object. The parameter sent is an object.Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Connecting MMP data with AppsFyler

Hello everyone! At my company, we are trying to connect attribution data from AppsFlyer (Our MMP) to Amplitude, so we can know which platform/campaign/ad/adset each user is coming from. But because of the privacy policies of some of the platforms like Facebook and Twitter for example, the installs show as organic on Amplitude. https://support.appsflyer.com/hc/en-us/articles/211200306-Amplitude-integration-with-AppsFlyer Any idea how we can fix that? I read about a work-around with the HTTP API, but would love to hear from you all.

Remove default Pageview event

I wonder if it is possible to remove the default Pageview event from amplitude. This Pageview event seems to fire each time the route is changed. We are using amplitude with angulartics2 and do page tracking with the pageTrack function.

Search spider requests are being logged (Yandex)

I’ve noticed a strange behaviour - we’ve started to receive lots of events (around 40K per day) from IP’s belonging to Yandex (russian search engine), and it looks like that their spiders run javascript code and trigger a corresponding events. And it’s ruining our analytics :(This happens only with Yandex spider. Do you have any idea why this happened and how can we fix it PS I know, that I can ban events coming from a certain IPs, but I think that the ignoring search bots should be done automatically.

User properties not updated

Hi all,We’ve developed a mobile app for language learning based on React Native and Google Firebase (Realtime Database) as the user database. We’re using the Amplitude React Native SDK to pass information from the mobile app to Amplitude.We occasionally use Google Firebase’s A/B test feature to allocate users into groups to test certain features. To analyse the effectiveness of these features we set an Amplitude user property with the name of the A/B test and the values “true” / “false” to indicate which group the user is in. This allows us to create retention, conversion and other graphs where we can easily group by this user property or of course simply create two cohorts for which we specify the value of this property.However, there seems to be a problem with our data. We’re getting a lot of “(None)” values for this user property even though when we download detailed information about the users (click on a bar chart and then “Download Users”) we can see that most users have a “true”

Best pratices to integrate Amplitude

Hi everyone, My system is RESTful API, we have developped a SPA (Single Page Application) that use these APIs and some users are calling directly our APIs without using the SPA. I don’t know where should I put the logging to Amplitude on the SPA or on the API?Should I log also the read operation or only the write operation? Thanks for your help!Johnny

I've run a Google Ads campaign. How can I know the ID of the users who dowloaded the app coming from that campaign?

The title says it all. I have run a search ads campaign on Google Ads. Now I would like to know who downloaded the app and came from that channel. Is there any way I can analyse (and get the user ID of those users)?Thanks in advance :)

Lose events on first launch app (Unity SDK with Domain Proxy)

We use our own proxy service, and if the application is launched for the first time after installation, we lose the first batch of events. On the second launch, all events come as expected from the very beginning of the application launch. In unity sdk we use setServerUrl() . if we set "https://api2.amplitude.com" all work as expected, but if we switch to our url we lose events on first launch. in the logs of our proxy server, we do not see the first batch of events (as if they are not sent from the app), and a few seconds after the application starts, we start receiving events. any idea how we can fix this issue? I’d appreciate any ideas on that issue.

How can we measure WAU and MAU separetely?

Hello guys, I am simply trying to measure WAU along a month. Users that have logged in at least one time every week during the period of February for example. I have the proper event set up on the product. Is there any way for that? It leads to the same question for MAU as well.

Does Active user includes New user?

Hi, I got a simple question here.  According to the definition, “Active user” refers to the user who occurs “active” event during the set time range, and “New user” refers to the user who logged an event first time during the set time range.So, I got a question how “Active user” and “New user” is defined in each time interval.For example, user A logged an “Sign Up” event first time on 3/1 and logged and “ViewProduct” event on 3/2. (both events are active)If I make an Event segmentation chart of Any active event during 3/1~3/7(daily) and select “New user” on the segment module, only 1 event(“Sign Up”, 3/1) will be occurred on the chart, right?Also, if I choose “Active User” on the segment module, only 1 event(“ViewProduct”, 3/2) will be occurred on the chart, right?However, as there are no exclusive meaning in the definition of “Active user”, I’m not sure if the event which is triggered by “New User” will be occurred on the chart if I choose “Active user” on the segment module.To wrap i

Data Residency

I have bunch of related questions.I’m in the UK, since Brexit, does anyone know if that means I should have EU data residency?When I signed up I’m sure I would have chosen EU data residency if Id spotted it as an option, but I don’t have screenshots of my signup and so I’m not 100% sure what I did.Is it possible to see where my data is resident in the Org Settings?

I deleted a custom event, and I have no way to get it back... :(

Hello! I just deleted a custom event. However, I want it back. I know that there is a way to undelete it, but it is not working…To put you in context, I am in:Govern > EventsI selected "Deleted" in the dropdown next to the search bar but then I see that the deleted event is not there… It says that latest deleted custom events were deleted a few weeks ago and by another co-worker…So… the question is… where is the custom event that I have deleted in order to undelete it?I'd really appreciate your helpThanks :)

Cyryllic values are corrupted in user properties

When sending Cyrillic characters in the user properties, the characters lose their encoding and turn into incomprehensible characters.I use HTTP API V2 on WindowsString “Отважный тигр” becomes in ÐÑважнÑй ÐÑÑлAt the same time, there is no such problem with Latin characters and numbers.There is also no problem when sending Cyrillic through Unity SDK on Android and iOS

How do I track button clicks across multiple pages?

I’m fairly new to Amplitude and feeling a bit lost.  Our website has a Sign Up button in our global navigation bar. I wish to track how many times the button is clicked on each page of our website to calculate the conversion rate for each page. Would anyone be able to help me out with this? Amplitude not working for multiple days - How to solve it?

Hey all! We were using Amplitude without problems for about 1.5-2 months and now we are getting the Something went wrong message for days and it’s not going anywhere… Amplitude just doesn’t work :( It doesn’t look like it’s on our side, so is there a way that you can fix this please? Thanks!

I am trying to calculate retention only for users who came back to the app on day 1. I have looked around the community and played with the settings on the retention dashboard but haven’t been able to find anything for making this work. Is there a way to do this?

Do not move user properties to event properties automatically

We have integrated amplitude with segment and added some user properties like fbclid, gclid, initial_referrer, utm_source, and I have checked that now it is coming in amplitude but when I was trying to filter by fbclid in the chart for any user I was not able to see `fbclid` user property there, then I have checked in govern page in event properties and what can I see is fbclid user property was moved to event property, It should be present in user properties too, Fbclid property is only availale for some events as it’s a event property. We have other properties like gclid is still in user properties then why some user properties are moved to event properties? Is there any way to move those event properties to user properties, so we can use that property for filters in chats? We are sending all user propeties to all type of events (page, identify, track).

Amplitude doesn't work

I added amplitude event tracking calls next to all my mixpanel event tracking calls in my nodeJS serverless backend, but no events are showing up, and I’m not sure how to fix it as no errors are thrown. Here is the event code in JS: amplitudeClient.logEvent({              event_type: 'EVENT NAME',              user_id: (60 character long UUIDV4 string),              ip: '127.0.0.1',              event_properties: {                prop1: prop1,                prop2: prop2              }            }); 😂
