Hello! I add new event in Amplitude and don’t see them in “event segmentation”, but I see them in “user look up”. Could you help me?

How to get separate stats for web and mobile app version names?

We have a mobile app (where Amplitude captures the version number automatically), and a web app (where we call setVersionName explicitly).Now when I try to see how many users are using the latest web version (User Composition by Version), I get mobile app version names mixed in, even after setting Platform to Web.What am I doing wrong?

Inconsistent W1 Retention in 4W vs 8W

New to the community, I hope someone can help me with a questions around retention.When measuring weekly retention, why is my W1 retention in 4W view vs 8W view so different? ~59 vs 39%. I am pretty confident the inputs are correct. Am I missing something here?Thanks in advance!

Creating Custom Event Properties

Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible to create custom event properties on top of already existing event properties? We have created custom events (eg: Event C = Either Event A or Event B) in the past, I was wondering if we could do soemthing similar with event properties (eg: Property C = concatenate Property A, ‘-’, Property B), or is it something that we’ll have to send as a new event property? Thank you.

A bug or I didin't understood the unbounded retention?

Hey community, I might have a silly question but still I couldn’t find an answer myself so here I am.On many retention graphs that I created when I switch to the unbounded retention I see areas where the graph goes up, meaning that the number of people returned on the day n+1 is greater than on the day n, which, if I got the defenition of the unbounded retention right, is impossible.Can you please help me with this puzzle?Thanks!

Is there a way to get user property sums?

We need to sum two user properties. Is there a way to get this? I’m guessing the best way would be to get SQL access, but short of that, is there any other way? We’re not looking for event properties, just user properties.

Hey there,I'm a big fan of Amplitude and I find it really amazing tool. Surprisingly I have an issue with the simplest report (as it supposed to be). I'm talking about Users: New vs Returning report.How can I properly compare the segments of New users vs Returning users?I need to analyze the behavior patterns for new vs returning users I've used tons of variants an no one seems reliable enough. Amplitude shows "idfa" and "adid" as null in raw payload

Amplitude IDs confusion

Hey Team,Our app Steppen uses Amplitude for tracking on app use by our users. Steppen is a social fitness app and requires a login process when you download the app.  We are finding that in our "active user count" there are a number (15-20%) of amplitude ID's coming up which are not being attributed to User ID which is what normally happens when a user opens the app and uses it.  Our initial hypothesis was that the user is downloading the app then clicking on it to sign up and then deciding not to sign up. However we are having the same amplitude ID come onto the app on multiple different days and what is recorded is simply that they are only accessing the first sign up page and nothing more. We think it is strange that a user would come onto the app multiple times (one Amplitude ID seems to have come on 9 times) and seems not create an account and use the app.See below a few screen shots of the user flows We are unsure what this user is, is the data not being recorded for this user or

Can we set the options after initiating the SDK?

Hi,We are using JavaScript SDK on our website. We want to enable attribution (utm, referrer etc.). After looking at the documentation, I see the options have to be enabled along with init command. Can we also enable these options after the init separately. We want do this because the SDK is placed on the web source code and we want to enable these options from GTM.

Clean user property

If I update a user property value to null on segment identify, Amplitude doesn't change user property value and it shows previous value. It seems to be an issue on Amplitude’s API side. What can I do to clean/empty value??

Can't receive click events fired from Google Tag Manager

I set up event and event trigger in GTM and found that AMP can only capture event trigger by page viewThe tags were fired correctly according to the Tag Assistant’s feedback under the debugger mode. But I just can’t see them logged in Amplitude.This is not the first time using this method, it worked well months ago. However, I found this problem yesterday and I just can’t figure out what’s the problem with my setup or if there were updates or bugs from AMP.Can anyone point me in the direction? Thanks!

Tracking Multiple Products on Order Confirmation Page

Hi, I am new to Amplitude Analytics and I was going through Revenue tracking documentation and $revenue, price and $quantity are the only parameters I see.If my application has multiple products that the user can buy at once, do I have to pass the total quantity of all the products as quantity and what would be passed in price?Also for a B2C ecommerce application, how can we effectively track the whole product performance funnel (impression, view, add to cart, checkout and purchase). Impression, view and add to cart can be Events which can take product properties. How do I pass multiple product information in checkout and purchase events?

Kochava Events to Amplitude

Hello All!I am trying to send event data from Kochava to Amplitude however I am running into an issue. I am trying to send events from users who find us organically (not through a tracking link) and I am being told that Amplitude doesn’t have a fall back to capture device_id and Kochava doesn’t know what the fall back should be.  This is what Kochava is telling me:For mobile apps, our integration automatically falls back to the user's device id (ADID for android or IDFA/IDFV for iOS) as the transaction ID when no transaction id is present.  In web and mobile web, the actual device ID (ADID, IDFA, IDFV) is not able to be captured.  Our Web SDK will generate a Kochava Device ID for our system to be able to tie web traffic together for a specific user, but the existing web integration with Amplitude does not have logic in place to fall back to the Kochava Device ID when no transaction ID is available for the web install or event traffic.  We could put this in place, but this is a global c

Grouping users by user properties

Hey team,I am new to Amplitude, we want to track the number of users who have accepted access to contacts and location.We were thinking to have access_to_contacts be a boolean value for a user property. I then want to count the percentage of active users over time who have accepted contact access, would using access_to_contacts as a user-property then grouping users by this property be the best way to see the change of this value with time ? Similarly we are looking to see how many users people follow - would the best way be to track this again be creating a user property and then using group by ?Thank you ,Cara

Trouble Charting Event Properties Across Events

Hello! I’m working to get amplitude all setup for a test run and have quite a few events tracking currently.Within Events, I have a handful of “event properties”. I two high value event properties, “Action” and “ActionGroup”. An Example of how I am intending to use them is that “Action” may be things like “Open” and the “Action Group” may be the feature which is being opened, such as “Schedule”. The trouble I’m running into, is with Charting. I’d like to take all “Action” properties which equal “Open” and see how this breaks down by “ActionGroup” (In essence seeing which feature is Opened).However, when creating a new chart, and selecting “Any Event”, and then select “Group By”, I have no access to this specific Event Property. If i select a specific event, the desired event properties do display.Why can’t I group “All Events” by “Event Properties”? I feel like I’m missing something!Thanks in Advance for any help.

Referer_Domain [Amplitude+Segment]

Hi!I’m trying to find User property “Referrer_Domain”, but couldn’t find it. I’ve searched it in Govern->User properties.Regarding this article (https://developers.amplitude.com/docs/javascript#web-attribution), this field Amplitude supports tracking automatically. But I’m using integration via Segment. Do you know if there is an easy way to get it?

Dynamic Level Funnel

Hi! I’m a game developer working on a game with several hundred levels. We’re considering migrating over to amplitude and I’m having trouble replicating the graph from the second picture. Doing something like in the second picture isn’t very efficient. Is there a way to create a dynamic funnel in amplitude? Where the x axis sorted by an event property.

V2 app with new work space and new events?

Hi, we will be launching our next version app in about a monthand I would like to get an advice of what I should do in this case(should I divide this to seperate work space? or is it possible to do so?) This is an update of an existing app,which means the app it self in the playstore won’t be two of them,but the design and features are 50% same, 50% new.  there are some events that should be added because nothing like this existed in the previous version.some events to be disappeared because we deleted some buttons or optionssome events need to be changed, the definition should be changed for some events, the event property needs to be changed for some. In this case, Should I work on the taxonomy from scratch and seperate the workspace? (or is it possible to separate these for good?) or should I try not to change too much properties so that I can directly compare to the legacy data. Can you give me some advices for this?

Seem to be losing events that I have logged

Hi - I’m taking my first few steps with Amplitude - using the Javascript SDK to log page views and other events on my website, bachtrack.com.I’m currently running in parallel with Google Analytics and making the same page view calls to both Amplitude and GA. As far as I can see, everything is being logged correctly – I haven’t received any error codes yet – but I’m only seeing around 60% of the event count in Amplitude that I’m seeing in Google. To put it another way, 40% of my page view events are getting lost.The timing is slightly different - the call to GA is inline inside the HTML <head> tag and happens at around 880ms, whereas the Amplitude call only happens after the page is loaded (around 980ms, according to Chrome). But that doesn’t seem like enough for me to be losing such a high percentage of the Amplitude posts.Can anyone point me in the direction of what to look for?

Events disappear from event stream when Live Event Updates is enabled

Hello,We have integrated Amplitude into our react native app through RudderStack (http://rudderstack.com/) using Cloud Mode.Both for iOS and Android, the events are sent to Amplitude successfully. However, while reviewing the Android events in the Event Stream and the “Live Event Updates” option is enabled, the event stream disappears after a few seconds or when clicking “Load New Events” and a message saying “No Data” appears instead of the event stream.This happens when reviewing the event stream of an Android device only. For iOS it works without any issues. Any ideas?

User country isn't displayed

Hello! Amplitude displayed only one country in user property. We have users who are using product from Turkey, but Amplitude displayed only Belarus in the properties.Also in User look up history of user from another country is not visible.

GTM server & web tag template

Hi Amplitude team!Do you plan to support GTM server & web with tag templates?I guess GTM web is what we currently used, but, potentially, GTM server is very promising. Especially with complex deployment, involving apps and/or server2server integrations.For now:I can’t control apps deployment directly; I can’t make server2server (HTTP API) integrations a bit easier/faster.With GTM server, I get an additional layer under my control much cheaper than mParticle/Segment and without possible consent collisions. Though, it isn’t easy to work with, has a learning curve.
